Wow. A fantastic steak. Potatoes that didn't appear to be from a food service company. Good flavor, well-prepared on everything. I will absolutely go again. However...please do away with having to scan a QR code for menu or drink options. That's the only thing I'd take a star away for. EDIT: Went again.10/12/24 So wanted to go again, and the wife and I said, "kids' gone, let's go there." Brewery looks great, meat selection, holy crap, phenomenal. That is borderline stupendous and people should go there to find other words to describe it for themselves. Jodie Foster would say they should have sent a poet. Greeter was awesome, and efficient ands at us down quickly, good seats. Very comfortable. Sat outside last time. Very nice inside, nice table size and height. Busy, but didn't feel crowded. I hadn't eaten all day and the wife wanted steak, so since I had a big steak last time and you can judge a place on the burger, I had the Bluey. Medium well. The wife, meanwhile places a brilliant order of the filet, medium rare, mashed potatoes, and half a salad. Something fruity, I cannot remember. I can remember some of the best burgers I've ever had. When, where. Best was 2am in LVB burgers in whatever casino i can't remember. I think about that burger often. Best fast-food type is this one in Decatur at the Little Burger Joint back in 2000. Holy hell, had too many of those that summer. This will be a top 10 burger, I think. I may, on occasion have a random, lingering thought about this one and go, "yeah, that was a pretty good burger." One suggestion, if you read this - maybe you forgot the lettuce or it was meager? If so, it would have added a very nice crunch.
Having previously stated my peckishness, and because I'm getting the cheaper meal anyway, I ordered the Steak Bites. Medium rare. Damn. That was quite possibly some of the best steak bites I've ever had in some of the most "meh" presentation I've ever seen. Those were amazing. As good as my wife's filet. I wanted more and would have ordered another round had she not been there. But all clumped together kinda, not even the hint or attempt at garnish or flair. I'm torn, because it's not like I'm not going to order them again, but it's the principle of the matter here - you have an image to uphold, not me. The flavor combo with the horseradish. I mean, I want more now.
The two sour beers I had, and Bravo to you for having a selection of sours btw, the mango and the storm man, were both great. The Mango is to die for. The storm man had me trying to figure out what was in it. I didn't dislike it, per se, and it grew on me, but the mango is more my style. I can't review my wife's filet, as I really only had two or three bites, but it didn't really pair well with the Bluey and storm man. Not in the least. So, don't take my word for anything there, but it was a bit gamey. Not in a bad way. Again, it was probably the storm man. The salad now, that is how you should do half a salad. Very nice. That's an exceptional size for half a salad. Nice job. (I looked it up and it is the Autumn Salad) I talk those up, because the service tonight? What the actual hell? Omg. I know I asked for a menu, I am sorry, I will apologize until the cows come home but, oh my god, what did we do? Servers are my favorite people. I stack my dishes, I am polite, I say please and thank you, yes sir and ma'am, tip generously and will fight any person who is ever rude to a server, but oh my hell in damn we must have looked like someone you did not like in a past life because that was just ungawdly uncomfortable tonight. The last person who brought us our food was nice, saw her for a second, but what the actual F did we do to deserve you slamming the drinks down and otherwise treating us like you were annoyed that I pissed in your Wheaties or something. Was it asking for water? I seriously want to know what we did to or said. Anyway, food was fantastic, atmosphere is sweet, service this time was...
Read more1/25/2020 it was our 3rd time here, 2nd after the remodel. Reserved a table ahead of time and checked in. They said it would be a few minutes wait for an "open table". There were at least 5 open tables that I counted upon arriving. Sat and waited 10 minutes for them to seat us at one of the open tables we saw upon arriving. Server was there within a few minutes for our drink order. 10 minutes later came back with 1 drink, 5-10 minutes after that 3 waters, and 5 minutes after that the rest of the drinks. Took our order after we got drinks and said shouldn't be long for our food. 1hr later they brought out 1 item that was ordered as a meal not an appetizer. 25 minutes after that our food came out. During this time the restaurant had cleared out and there was maybe 20 tables in the entire restaurant still eating. People that showed up with larger groups and ordered after us were already finished with their meals. I ordered the burger of the day and it was dry, over cooked, and very salty. The bacon was burned and flavorless. Not all the A1 in the world could have helped this burger. I was going to send it back but was getting sick from not eating so i just kept my mouth shut. One of the people in our group was never offered a refill on his drink that was clearly empty 10 minutes after ordering. Wasn't even offered a refill when our food was brought out. I understand that this is a popular place to eat but we showed up later in the evening after the dinner rush and the service was horrid. The service right after the remodel was better and so was the food. I will not be going back there ever again. For bar food there are plenty of other bars in town that will serve you faster and cheaper. Food was very salty and flavorless. I don't recommend this place for children either, not a good menu for them either if you have a picky eater. That's why I only gave 1 star, I would give it a 0 if I could. Hope this...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Schaendorf Brewing Company in Allegan, MI, and I can't help but share my incredible experience. This family-owned establishment has managed to bring together an amazing combination of fantastic food, excellent beer, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
First and foremost, the beer selection is truly impressive. They have a wide variety of brews on tap, catering to the tastes of any beer enthusiast. I was particularly impressed with their signature IPA, which had a perfect balance of hops and citrus notes. The flight option allowed me to taste several of their offerings, and I must say, it was hard to choose a favorite among the delicious stouts, porters, and pale ales.
The food menu at Schaendorf Brewing Company is a perfect complement to their beer selection. Their dishes are made from locally-sourced ingredients, showcasing the best of what Allegan has to offer. I highly recommend trying the steaks.
