I visited Sunday the 24th. I came with my mom, though we had seperate purchases. she ended up getting in front of me in line. I approach a register at the end, where I did not see any signs that said card only, so I had no way of knowing they were card only obviously. I, myself had 2 seperate purchases as I had THREE items I wanted to pay with cash as they were my sonâs items with HIS CASH and the remainder of MY ITEMS I wanted to purchase with card. VERY SIMPLE, COMMON OCCURRENCE. This is not a new concept to society. I start scanning my first 3 things and go to pay, I see cash is not an option. I then turn to an employee who was standing near the checkout (Iâm familiar with shopping at 5 below so of course I know we check ourselves out but that they leave an employee by registers for assistance, similar to Walmart etc) I asked her âoh this doesnât take cash? Which registers do?â And she said any of the registers on the other side will. Ok. I am not a five below employee so I obviously donât know how to clear those items off of the screen of the register that I was leaving (because it doesnât take cash..) that is what the employee is there for. Or thatâs what I thought employees were for. Everything went south from here. I go to a register on the side that does accept cash. I scan my 3 items, and as I am LITERALLY AND PHYSICALLY inserting a $20 bill, this same employee lingers to the first register I was on, then back to me. She says âmaam you have a balance due on that other registerâ I said âoh yeah my bad I didnât know how to clear those off the screenâ she then goes âso are you going to pay for those items?â In a very accusatory tone. Talking to me crazy out the side of her neck. I reply, âyou literally just watched me.â She knew I had bought those items because her eyes were on me like a hawk at this point. She replies âoh ok..â then is quiet my entire second transaction (the items I was paying in card with) and I was annoyed but I was going to leave the experience alone at that, since I was leaving anyways. This is where shit gets crazy. I finish checking out and stand off to the side for a moment because I guess my mom also had to switch registers because one of her items wouldnât scan (not too sure on the details tbh) and another employee comes up near the front. The original employee who was bothering me starts POINTING HER FINGER AT MY MOM to the other employee saying âthat woman in the red shirt didnât pay for her things, watch the lady in the red shirtâ My mom was the only one around in a red shirt! I was too shocked to say anything for a moment, well then she starts POINTING AT ME NOW! I hear the employee she is speaking to even say âwho are you pointing at? Are you pointing at her or herâ which she shouldnât have been pointing at no damn body! Now at this point I did explode because Iâve never been treated this way in a store before! Iâd honestly like the cameras reviewed or something so the situation can be looked into because that was crazy as hell! The checkout happened between 2:40-2:50 pm. It is very obvious me and my mom werenât up to anything we were just trying to buy our stuff like everyone else. I donât know what about me specifically set her off but she targeted and bullied me in front of the entire store and everybody at the damn registers. She was a elderly Hispanic/ native woman with a braided ponytail. I have contacted customer relations and am waiting to hear from district manager but figured as many people as possible need to see this since thereâs a bully working...
