Ambridge Do it Best Home Center — Attraction in Ambridge

So, I’ve always looooooved loved loved this store. I dont always have extra money to go there but when i do it’s the first place I stop to look for gardening, seeds, plant bulbs, paint, cleaning, yard ornaments, potting soil and misc items that l(Let’s face it) dont even really need! It’s my tax return spending spree haven! In fact, I just spent close to $200 last evening on seeds, bulbs and paint supplies when I got off the bus from Pittsburgh. true that!! Why, you might ask.? Because the people in this store have always been so friendly, so helpful and l like the variety! I also like the convenience of getting off the bus at the end of my work day and stopping in to browse around. I like that there are not 100 people in here bumping into me with their shopping carts! I like browsing around because its a stress reliever!

..BTW I have also taken the bus for the past 25 years ..no joke! parked at this store parking lot for at least half of those years when catching the last stop in Ambridge, which used to be almost every day..now it’s three days a week. Never ONCE have I had an issue with parking at the “very end” of this never, ever busy parking lot! In fact I have never once witnessed this parking lot to ever be even 1/2 cars full..ever! But even so, I was always careful to park farthest away from the store…one of the farthest spots in the lot just in case you were giving things away and the lot would actually fill up!

really..There has never been more than what seems like four customers in this store any time I have shopped in it!

The way I see it, there have been many times that I stopped at this store before heading home just because of the convenience of having parked there, feeling obliged to end the day with a little shopping…So, in my view you have had yourself a very easy customer.

Well, today that has changed. I was actually planning to go back into the store and look at more flower bulbs …after just spending $200 the night before!…until I noticed a big red “no parking” sign that was left on the windshield of my car! wtf So someone at the store went out of their way to place a “no parking sign” on my car licated at the very end of the parking lot! really?! How petty and unfriendly!!

So, now I will no longer park at the very end of your lot like I’ve done for over ten years…even though I am willing to bet the lot will always be half filled …or will I have a reason to blow $200 on things I dont really need at your store!

I’m so tired of today’s age of...

Went to the home depot yesterday, even had an appointment with their kitchen staff. Not one single person helped me, when I asked an employee if they could help me they said "depends."

I have been to this do it best, probably, every day this last week and do not have a hard time finding an employee willing to help, most of them just acknowledge me as I walk around and ask if they can help me.

While, the prices are higher than the big box stores, I am definitely happy to shop here because I feel valued as a customer AND I'm not wasting my time searching for products w/o assistance.

The ambridge do it best has earned a loyal customer!

Edit: I am also obsessed with all the "wanted" posters around the store of people that have shop lifted! Even had an in depth convo with an employee about how one woman looked so different in each of her photos that I did not think they were the same person!

Also, pickles are incredible here (same brand the taphouse uses for their fried pickles!) And I got some of THEE BEST smoked salt here! Love that I can just buy products from other local small businesses...

Pros: Inside/retail Staff was friendly and knowledgeable with products in the store, got help finding my ratchet straps I was there for.

Cons: rental Dept! I rented a 4x6 utility trailer to haul a toolbox, and went to go get hooked up. The 4-pin trailer pigtail did not reach the receptacle on my truck. The employee in the yard said that I did not need to have it plugged in as long as the lights on my truck could be seen; it is illegal for a trailer to not have lights (I hold a Class A CDL and state inspection license) . I asked for an extension to attach to my truck and instead of them going and getting it, told me I could buy one in the store (to pull THEIR trailer with). They eventually decided to add an extension and bill it for “store use” to me free of charge, which I returned with the trailer. Had I not known the rules about trailers I could’ve been pulled over and given a nasty ticket. Not only is it against the law, but it is unsafe!
