This may be the slowest, "fast food" place in all of existence. I ordered a flavored water ahead of arriving. I got there 5 minutes after placing the order. As I sat there having entered my stall number into the app, I began to wonder if they had forgotten about me... 5 minutes past... then 10.
I decided to push the button and I was told my water was on the way out. You can imagine my joy as I expected my thirst to soon be quenched. As I tried to calm my daughter, (the toddler flailing around getting tired and restless of sitting in her car seat in the back and not moving), time crept onwards. As my daughters agitation grew, so did mine. 5 more minutes past, and I pushed the button again. I was told one more time that it was, "on the way out." I had now been waiting 15 minutes for a flavored water that I had ordered 5 minutes before arriving. Despite the second claim that the water was coming, I knew better this time than to get my hopes up as this Sonic had already let me down once before... Fool me once...
As I sat there continuing to wait, I felt like time had surely stopped... this must be a glitch in the matrix I thought. There is no way that this place is taking 25 minutes to make a flavored water... It seemed more plausible in the moment that I had accidentally frozen time. The only sure sign that time was still moving was the sound of my daughter becoming more agitated and fussy in the backseat... but perhaps we were in an isolated bubble where time continued to move. 1 more minute went by... then 2 minutes... 3 minutes... 4.... 5...
As I looked at the clock, I realized I was now running late for work... but I was committed to this water. I NEEDED it. I pushed the button again, but no answer. I saw a carhop come out of the store for the first time since I arrived... she walked towards my car. THIS WAS IT. THE MOMENT WAS NOW. IT HAD FINALLY COME.... and then she walked right past my car and gave another patron their order. Oh, the disappointment, the deceit, the BETRAYAL.
As I realized my defeat, I waived the white flag in the air and backed out of the parking spot... on the road again I headed as my thirst had only grown with my frustration. "Ah!" I thought, "I will at least go get my refund through the app!" But, neigh. The app does not allow refunds... there are in fact, no takesies backsies. This was one etch and sketch that could not be undone. It was then that I realized not only had I lost 25 minutes of time and had not received my water, but I had carelessly donated $1.45 to the store that I would never get back.
As I drove down the road, I thought of all the things I could have spent that $1.45 on... perhaps a piece of gum, a bottle of water (which would have been great at that moment), 145 pennies in a wishing well... or even an eraser to try and erase my mistake of going to the Sonic...
Read moreI called because my order was wrong. I ordered a 5 pc cinasnack and 3 pc cinasnack with an ice cream. I received a 3 pc cinasnack and a 3pc deep fried Oreo. I called back and was given the worse customer service. I told him (the shift manager on 2/21 around 9 pm) that my order was wrong and he said to come get it replaced and i stated I’ll be back in the morning and he had an attitude and stated to call back in the morning. I wasn’t done talking because i needed his name just Incase of an issue and was hung up on. I decided to go up there anyway and EVERYTHING is on camera. He lied about his name. He lied that he didn’t speak with me. He said the phones were too busy to remember who spoke with me. My fiancé stepped out of the car since he was the one that ordered in the first place and the manager claimed he felt threatened and would call the police if he came up there. He was the one that ordered! You guys wasn’t threatened when you all took his money. It was ridiculous! And if he was so threatened why did he go back inside laughing and joking with everyone while i was waiting on my refund? Because he wasn’t. My fiancé is an African American male and this manager was Caucasian. He did that intentionally. There was two African American males working on the same shift that were bigger than my fiancé! This was disrespectful and will not be tolerated. I will be contacting the local news and will send the video as well. I will also contact corporate and the better business bureau. You do not treat customers with disrespect when you’re the one that messed up my order and hung up in my face. Plus he said i thought you said you weren’t coming back up here. Who says that to a customer! You should retrain your managers and teach them a little respect. No one deserves to be treated as such. I would give zero...
Read moreI ordered a meal at 4:57 PM on Sunday March 23rd. App says it will be approximately 5 minutes. I show up at 5:10 PM and check into the stall. I sit there for 15 minutes after I checked in. Also, there is only 4 cars in total at the restaurant (including drive thru). Because it was taking so long I decided to move to a stall and click the button. Nobody answers. Finally at 5:30 the workers noticed I've moved my car and come give me the food. I check for the marinara sauces I ordered in the bag. Of course they aren't there. Just like every other sonic I go to. I click the button and nobody answers. By this time it is 5:35 PM. I move to the drive thru in hopes to talk to someone immediately. Me and car in front of me arrive at the same time and he sits there for another 3-4 minutes still not having been asked what he wants to eat. At this moment I just leave. Instead of having the sauces I ordered I have to stop at the grocery store to get marinara sauce in a jar because sonic cannot provide me the most simplest thing, warm food and a marinara sauce I ordered. By the time I get home, which is only 5 minutes away, my food is cold after the 35 minute wait and a run into the grocery store. I have to heat my meal in the microwave. In top of that coke dripping from the side of my drink due to your workers and managers not caring for the 4-5 cars on its property. Worst part of it all is I spend 25 dollars for the worst service I've seen ever. 25 dollars for cold food and not everything I asked for. This is ridiculous. I want my money back.
