Absolute garbage. I’ve been a consistent gym member at various gyms for 15 years. As a customer, my bill is always paid and I treat the facility like a second home. I rerack my weights, rerack other people’s weights who are apparently to lazy to do so, and wipe off the equipment when I’m done. Like most veteran lifters, I’m anti social so I don’t bother anyone, I’m not there to chat, I’m there to workout.
After moving to DFW in April I needed to sign up for a new gym, I didn’t want to go to LA, but it was close so I tolerated it. Like most LA fitnesses, the trainers got their certificate out of a Cracker Jack box, and there is no interest from the staff other than membership dues.
Since April of 2017 I have been going to this gym 5-7 days a week, 2-3 hours at a time, and have seen various articles of clothing that some may deem inappropriate including shirts with profanity, girls wearing nothing but a bra (seriously, this is not a joke) and shorts tucked so far up a girls butt you can see actual birth canal when they bend over (again, not a joke). This never bothered me, they aren’t hurting anyone, no harm no foul. However the issue I have is the preferential treatment the staff gives to others because they clearly are “Bros” or are trying to get in someone’s pants. I got a gag shirt for Christmas. If you have watched Shameless the TV show, Lip ghallagher wears it for a few episodes and it has profantity. Now since going to this gym in April, no one else has ever been addressed for their referenced apparel above, ever, but for some reason, the staff had a problem with me. At first it didn’t bother me, I asked to finish my workout and I just wouldn’t wear it anymore. Instead they wanted to kick me out. At this point I couldn’t hold my tongue and went over every scenario I had witnessed since joining and how illogical it was to single me out. I ended up canceling my membership to that garbage gym and can’t wait until the cash flow dries up and they sell out to...
Read moreThis is a review for my first experience there and the way I have been treated, not the place itself. A few days ago I went to this place for the first time (with my friend) and I faced these:
The atmosphere is nice, and this is the gym that my fiance goes to so I decided to open a membership myself. I paid cash for the start up and everything and got a receipt. Then a week later we find out that my account has been closed. I broke my ankle/foot right after, so I didn't have time to bother or worry about it. We contacted them again a few weeks ago since I can do some things now, and wanted to be able to go back. They said that they issued a refund check to me back when it was closed, but they sent it to an address that we haven't had in 5 years. I went in and spoke to someone about having another one issued, and they tried to sell me on a completely different service. When I told them that I wanted what I signed up for and refused to pay anything else and I just wanted my refund back, they got all huffy and shut down. I was told last Friday that I would be receiving my refund check, as I live in the same city, it should have been here by now. I called them to check on the status of the check, and they told me that there was no note in the acct that I was ever getting one issued. (they had already told me that they never received my money, and had gotten onto the person who handled the acct set up bc I did have a receipt to prove I had done so) Now they are telling me that, I am wrong, that I never turned in any money and are pretty much refusing to give me my money back.
I had planned on going back after the holidays when I would be closer to 100% on my foot/ankle, but now, I will NEVER sign up with them again. At least not this location. Everyone there...
