I picked the Drury because of my previous stay years ago. This location is newer. The price was great for our king bed suite. They had snack and drinks happy hour from 5:30-7 every night. There were 3 free adult drinks during this time. We missed out because we checked in late and we were busy the next night. I did have a cocktail at the bar the night we checked in because the bar/restaurant is open until 12am. The cocktail and food was excellent!
Breakfast was included and was very large. I didn’t get a picture of the breakfast, but did of the breakfast area. The area was so large with comfortable seating. The decor of the hotel was beautiful. Wi-if was free and our devices quickly and easily connected with fast speed.
The staff were absolutely amazing. Check in was so friendly and professional. The bar/restaurant staff were friendly and attentive even though they were slammed. Everyone was ordering pizzas, we did not try them because we weren’t hungry enough, but we did have the tots and loaded tots which were great. They did mix up our root beer and vanilla ice cream into a root beer float, but my daughter didn’t mind and really enjoyed it. We opted out of housekeeping, but the housekeeper did ask when she saw us if we needed anything and did take our restaurant dishes and give us more towels. Check out was quick and easy.
There was a large pool, the older kids were disappointed that the max depth is 5 ft, but the very large and nice “hot tub” (whirlpool spa) made up for it. They had a lot of fun and the pool is open until 10 pm. The rooms were extremely quiet, except the bathroom which had some noise from other flushes while in the water closet. The noise was not loud or bothersome. There was a soaking tub with great space and water temperature. The shower was big with great pressure and the soaps were luxurious without the drying that you sometimes find in hotel products. There was a Bluetooth speaker clock that I set for morning wake up. There was plenty of charging space. The room included a great mini fridge and microwave. The ice was also on every floor.
The location was perfect being about 5 minutes from Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags. Then we were about 7 minutes from Walmart. There were numerous restaurants close with a variety of food. Then we were about 25 minutes from the Grapevine Mills Mall. There was also a nursery across the street where I got plants before heading home!
This was such an amazing stay and experience that my oldest daughter wants to return and even recommended the Drury to...
Read moreI booked my reservation at this hotel well in advance and I’m so glad I did! On the day of my stay people were trying to make reservations and prices had skyrocketed to $1,200 because of the football game. Talk about lucky timing! This hotel offers some amazing perks starting with their punchcard for adult beverages yes, you read that right! It’s such a fun and unique feature. They also have a buffet for both breakfast and dinner and let me tell you this is not your typical hotel food. We’re talking nachos, hot dogs, chicken Alfredo, and more real, satisfying meals. Plus, you can serve yourself from their soda fountain which was super convenient I honestly wish I would’ve had my yeti :/ My tip: try to be one of the first in line (well at least for the free adult beverages drink ) or just wait for the rush to die down because the line moves quickly and there’s plenty of seating available. The staff here were fantastic and one woman in particular stood out. I can’t remember her name, but she was a Black woman with incredible energy. She was always walking around checking on guests and ensuring everything stayed clean and organized. I believe she was part of the management team and her kindness made the experience even better. There was a father who had a stroller with kids in it, and he wasn’t sure where to sit and she immediately stepped in and guided him through a pathway to get him to a seating area in the corner where the family was comfortable sitting with wagon. The amenities at this hotel are top notch. The pool is a great size, with half of it indoors and the other half outdoors. The gym is well equipped and I was impressed that they even have a laundromat that doesn’t charge a fortune finally, no $5 loads! The location is a major bonus as well. You can see the stadium from the hotel, and the view is beautiful.

Read moreI enjoyed the new features this Drury Inn had that others haven't. I've been to quite a few Drury Inns (Austin, Birmingham, Montgomery, West Des Moines, and Amarillo) and this one was the first to have a bar/lounge area. You can also order food from a menu which was a very nice option since we had a friend visit us (did not stay the night) who wanted to eat without us having to go out. While we were able to dine from the dinner buffet (as guests of the hotel), our friend was able to eat at the bar/lounge. I had a bite of their tenders and tots, which were good, and not oily at all. The fact that you can order food from the kitchen until late makes it a lot more convenient. I was tempted to try some of their desserts but, unfortunately, we were too tired from the night's events to think of ordering anything but sleep.
The room wasn't as clean as I'm used to. There was a wad of hair (that looked like dog hair) between the wall and the bedside table. It was a minor thing and easily disposed of; however, it makes me question how attentive the cleaning process is. Though, to be fair, I am the type that looks at a room like I'm scanning for things left behind (so I can return them to the front desk before I try to unpack anything), and I am a bit obsessive about cleaning so I tend to spot things most people miss. And while this was a new location and I liked the spacious buffet area, I found it surprising that they didn't have disposable plates and cutlery. That only became an issue during breakfast since we prefer to take it up to our room. The staff was nice enough to tell us we could take it up and leave the plates outside by our door, but I opted to go all the way downstairs to dispose of things where they're meant to. That was more of a minor inconvenience than a dislike though, since it was my own choice to dispose of it that way (because leaving food/plates out in the hall is not my idea of sanitary, but again, that's the obsessive...
