Customer service is terrible. This is my first experience with this business and the food was great. I called to make a take out order. The lady that picked up the phone was not sure if they take takeout orders and she had to ask someone. Then while ordering, she didn't know if they carried sour cream. Getting my order taken was a terrible process and I only ordered four things off the menu. She told me it would take 25 mins from the end of the call to get my order. I was only 10 mins away and my home is past the restaurant so I told her I would wait in my car.
25 mins later, I go pick up my food to find out that the order was never submitted because she didn't know if we wanted shredded chicken or fajita chicken for the nachos ordered. đ That was something that an easy phone call back would've fixed. Now my family and I have to wait an additional 15 mins for them to make the food.
I pay and the same lady took my order got my food for me. I asked was everything inside and she stated yes. I get all the way home to find out that the nachos were not in the bag. It was the whole reason the order wasn't submitted the first time. I called back to speak with the manager (Jose) to only be told that he specifically helped me and that he made sure my nachos were there. I advised that he should check his kitchen. He checked and found the nachos. đ
At this point I'm livid about my experience and experience does affect taste. The only reason I knew the food is good is because I ate the leftovers the next day. The first day I was too made to know how the food taste. I will give this place another chance and I will update this review with my second experience. Jose told me to ask for him so I'm sure he would make sure that the experience is a positive one although it shouldn't take for the manager to personally intervene for even just good customer service.
*Update: I went back to give Lupe's a second opportunity to change my previous experience. The host (I believe her name was Adrianna) was absolutely amazing. She had excellent customer service and was very helpful. I spoke with the manager Jose and things went great. They were able to make up for my previous experience and keep me as a...
Read moreIf you made reservations via Google, call the restaurant to confirm. I called a day before the date of the res to confirm & they did not have it in their log, something about system sync issues where their computers don't link up with reservations made via Google. We came in @ 930pm (1hr before closing) on Friday right after a graduation ceremony @ Globe Life. Our party of 9 got seated right away, they were not very busy. Our server was very kind & patient with us while we gave our grad his gifts & took pictures. Drinks, chips & salsa and bean dips came out shortly after we placed our orders. Salsa has a nice kick to it & the bean dip is not overly salty. I ordered the carne asada plate, the beef was marinated well & packed a lot of flavor, rice & beans were pretty standard as far as Tex-mex places go. The food wasn't hot-hot when it arrived, more like lukewarm or the kind of warm that you get from microwaving the dish for 30seconds. But it was right before closing time so they might have already turn off the grill/stove? Other members of my party ordered brisket tacos & enchiladas only to be told they ran out of brisket for the day. They opted for fajitas instead. Same as the carne asada, the fajitas had really good flavor but it was not...
Read moreI have never had such an awkward experience at a restaurant. I'm sure the manager meant well but he made me very uncomfortable. So, our food comes out and my family and I are having friendly conversation when he walks up and introduces himself. We had JUST gotten our food and it took a long time so we were all sort of annoyed that he chose that moment to come over. Anyway, he asks how the food tastes and we reply that we don't know yet but thanks for checking. He then stands there and we are waiting for him to say something else but he doesn't say anything. We all sort of awkwardly look at him... waiting. He finally says to go ahead and eat our food he will wait to see how we like it.
Ummm, no. I don't want you to watch me while I make my fajita burrito and eat it. That's weird. We're trying to enjoy family time. We can't talk and enjoy each other with you standing right over us.
He seemed really nice and genuinely wanting to do a good job but maybe he missed how weird it was for US.
To top it off, the fajitas were VERY EXPENSIVE and I could barely make 2 burritos with the meat. Smallest serving of meat I've ever had and nearly $40. I will not return to a...
