Once upon a magical time, I lived in Ashland and spent countless days and hours in the truly enchanting, and impossibly beautiful Lithia Park. That was over ten years ago, and today I am visiting again for the first time since I moved away. I am in love all over again. It is more beautiful here then all the botanical gardens you have to pay for in cities, and this park is absolutely free. It so beautifully maintained, the dazzling diversity of trees, flowers and flora soothe and bathe you in a nature shower. The creekside beckons you in down the many inviting access points. The birds happily sing their songs and the children have an uninterrupted, magical life of their own here as they play away. Be respectful and gentle with the deer as this is their home. They are currently remaking the Japanese garden which was my favorite, and I have no doubt when it is finished it will be breathtaking. P.s. they no longer allow dogs in the park, but I think walking them around the perimeter of the park is ok, which is what we did. Thank you Lithia Park for enchanting us to...
Read moreBeautiful park! Landscaping is well thought-out and there's so much to see botanically. A gorgeous place to walk through lush grass and blooming flowers and trees with a serene creek running throughout the grounds.
Perfect park for picnicking, reading, sunbathing, or just sitting and enjoying. Lots of lawn area to spread a blanket or throw a frisbee.
Well maintained walking/jogging paths reach back into the park and provide options for how far to travel.
In warmer months there's an area where children play in the creek near the parking entrance.
There's an outdoor playground nearby also.
There are two ponds with ducks, one in front and one further back.
There are also tennis courts in the back.
At least two or three different locations in the park have public restrooms and drinking fountains.
Located downtown near the shopping district there is street parking available and further back on the residential side of the park is a small parking lot.
Simply a lovely place to spend...
