My childhood favorite place to run up 9 flights of stairs and gaze at this little beauty jewel of Ashland, Oregon. Back then this was as tall a building I had ever been to the top of & I would relish the moment I arrived, panting & excited to see everything from up there. Years later of course I had many more opportunities to visit and stay at the top floors of presidential suites in 5 & even 7 star hotels around the world. Having lived with affluence much later in life, helps me to really treasure this historic monument & this historic moment as I stay here now. Everything is as I remember: Gorgeous entrance with expansive foyer, welcoming atmosphere with all of the little embellishments that bring you home when you arrive. From the old fashioned style luggage cart, to a full salon experience with historic ballroom, & viewing balconies with elaborate moldings from floor to ceilings, all hints at an age old tradition of elegance & comfort. As an advanced level local guide whose reviews have reached almost 1 million views, I thought it would be appropos to share a little of my experience & give Ashland a little compliment with this review. I will add to it as I go along & just as much as I relished this place as a young child, I am sure to revel in it all! So many beautiful details, and amenities such as excellent pillows, very comfortable bed, with lovely soft and high quality linens. The bathrooms had floor carpets and every detail such as even makeup remover. Every detail down to the smallest of importance, they have it down. I would mention that front desk service was not available numerous times but they do have a voicemail set up so you can leave a message and they call you back. 1. Details: doors stay open so you can bring your things inside the suite. 2. Warm & welcome painted walls, mirrors, antique furnishings, fine art. 3. Quiet. 4. Beds are very comfortable, mattresses do not spring back so you don't wake up your husband when getting up at night. 5. Beautiful lamps, incandescent lighting. 6. Lovely originals. 7. Spacious, moldings, archways, grandeur. 8. Kind customer service. 9. HOT, HOT water. 10. Very nice shower, with extra lg rain shower head. Quilted, detailed embroidered curtain. 11. Clean, and although an old building, the atmosphere & scent is elegant like a fine delicate perfume. 12. Very affordable price point. Honestly for this price, one would expect far less & is comparable to far less luxurious hotels, inns, and b&b's. Not sure how they pull this off.

Stay-Away Package. To the management at Ashland Springs Hotel. We viewed the Deluxe Queen view room online and made a reservation with the “Getaway Package” which included Movie tickets to the adjacent theater and dinner at their in house restaurant named Larks. The Room was not comparable to what we viewed and was difficult to move or walk in. You were unable to supply the Movie Tickets which was on our itinerary. The restaurant was unable to serve us even though it was not busy. Solution: Represent the room images accurately. Don't advertise Movie tickets. Don't sell Dining when unavailable. When prompting the hotel desk that there were 7 tables that were open for the last 75 minutes and we could not wait 3 hours to eat, she told us that there was no refunds of the 75 dollars prepaid for the dining. We were asking to eat, not a refund. We had to find another restaurant. We can think of a number of ways a fine hotel could have handled these situations for their guests. The problems were present and the problem solving was not.

It was my only night to be fancy. The reservation had been booked a week in advanced and everything seemed in order. Getting there was probably the most difficult part. Main street is literally a hidden gem. The one way streets and oncoming traffic can be dangerous. The building itself has its own gated parking in the back. You'll have to get your room key first to unlock the gate though. The front desk attendant was so kind to upgrade my room to the fifth floor. No elevator music or creaky floors. The room had an apartment-like arrangement. Bed, desk, mini fridge and a sofa. Great city view from the window. Be careful not to fall though. Somebody forgot to add a screen! Had a pleasant time and a good night sleep. Missed out on breakfast due to an early commute, but I'm hoping to return in the near future.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels i have stayed in. I had a corner room with a soaking tub for one night that i loved so much i extended to a second night. The young lady at reception on 10/6 was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is beyond what most hotels are offering at the moment and the staff cooking/serving in the morning work hard and deserve to be treated with kindness and respect. I loved the details of the botanicals in the elevator, the taxidermy birds and eggs in the foyer, and all of the illustrations, and photographs in the corridors on each floor. The views from my room were wonderful - and it made a nice change to be able to open the windows too. Thankyou so much to the Ashland Springs hotel for making passing through Ashland much more special.

This review acknowledges the limitations one should expect when making your stay at a historic property. Location: the shortest walk to everything in Ashland. Completely accessible with free parking. 3rd floor rooms require no use of elevator, just the ramp from the parking lot behind the building. Rooms: Not many will be the same layout, but the standard will be considered small compared to modern hotels. Pics shown are 316. Bed is really comfortable, and since the property has central air, sleeping is relatively quiet. Some may find the shower head short. Note the eagle bust outside our shower window. Amenities: Plenty of great spots to read amor write; enjoy some afternoon tea and cookies. Breakfast at 7am. Staff: very informative and helpful.

We don’t often stay in renovated older hotels, but this location is a true gem. We stayed higher up on the sixth floor, which helped with the views and possibly kept the adjoining room noise to a minimum. The staff was very friendly and provided much more than just a continental breakfast that was delicious. Parking was easy behind the hotel Locations in downtown Ashland were very easy to walk to. We very much enjoyed being able to stroll to the theater and to Lithia Park. You could easily stay here for a week and never go to the same restaurant or wine tasting room. Have fun in the surrounding areas wine tasting, and going to shows
