Honestly, up until this point I wouldn't have had any complaints with Showplace. I've bought my furniture outright all within the cash price period and I've been a customer with them for over a year. I've bought a huge fireplace tv stand, a couch and loveseat set, and a dining set all from ashley furniture through them and they weren't cheap by any means. I've even rented electronics and other various items and have even recommended other people to go there because they used to have outstanding customer service. (I will say that if you decide to do business with Showplace, Junior is one of the best employees there.)
I recently moved into a new place and wanted a new complete bedroom set (king sized mind you), a new living room rug, new lamps, end table and coffee table, the whole sha-bang. They special ordered it all for me at a low down payment price and assured me everything was new and even told me that they'd throw in the lamps for free since I was buying so much. That's where the problems began. I found out those lamps weren't free at all. And not new. They were all banged up and I had to buy some parts from ashley furniture to fix one of them. Fine, not a problem because again, I thought they were free. Then COVID-19 happened and I got laid off from my job. They insisted they'd work with me because they were aware that unemployment and the stimulus was taking a long time to arrive on a national scale. I was told no late fees because that's the moral thing to do and I told them I'd be making my payments once one or the other had arrived. I wasn't aware I was being lied to the whole time and once I had money in hand to make those payments, I was told I owed them almost $300 in late fees. So naturally, I inquired if they could be removed by either the store manager or someone from corporate. They insisted that it wasn't allowed and that they didn't know who had told me that and when I asked to speak to someone higher up, they tried lowering my monthly payments to make up for the fees. (Not okay in my opinion as it would just add the fees to the backend of the contract so I still would technically owe them that money in the long run) So I took my business elsewhere and gave ashley furniture all of my money directly by buying that king sized bedroom set, rug, lamps, end tables and coffee table all outright. More than $2,000 later and I have what I wanted. Just a shame that they'd be willing to lose good customers and business over something so small, and it wasn't the first time it had happened. To me or to others. Honestly, I believe how a company will treat you during a pandemic/crisis will speak volumes on how they'd treat you under normal circumstances, so take that as you will. Read moreI just moved to Ohio recently and didn’t have a bed and or a tv so I called showplace got a tv and bed and ended up needing a bed frame as well and they added that in with my tv and bed and they were super nice and talked and didn’t try rushing me to get anything an or rushing me off the phone either then let me ask my questions and answered all of them and they aren’t super expensive and have a few payment options as well and works with you on when you get paid and when you can make a payment they are amazing and the delivery gentleman that delivered everything were really nice to and very respectful and answered any questions I had as well and you can tell they really care about their customers and do everything in their power that they can to make them happy I highly recommend showplace I appreciate yall...
Read moreBeen have problems with my Electric chair, the padding is wore out and and it very uncomfortable, ask them to get me a new one just like the one I have ,been waiting over a month now,still no chair .was lied to by the front counter personnel, said he would get me a new one in didn't happen. I then talked to the store main manager (Bryan. H) he said he been sick and he didn't know anything about it ,so he said I will have one Monday and he would call me ,again another lie didn't happen .so another week goes by. so I call them again the lady then said we got one in he going to check it out and call u today was another lie didn't happen. mean while the hole time I have never missed a payment .mean while I continue to pay on a very uncomfortable chair.
