Heilmann Regional Park — Attraction in Atascadero

Nice little park. Two baseball baseball diamonds with fences and scoreboards. There's also two soccer fields. Between the baseball and soccer field there's walkways so you can walk between them. Around the whole park is a trail that you can walk around take your dog on. There's always nice people walking around there exercising or just kicking back. There's also a play structure for the kids the parking lot is good size with trees for shade on one side of the parking lot. You could also leave the park and go on to a pretty cool little Trail...

There's a wonderful view of the state hospital from the park. It makes me grateful that I am able to enjoy all that the park has to offer. There's a dog park. There's frisbee golf. There's even some tennis courts and if you're lucky you might even spot a wild boar running around in a tutu asking for change. Please do not give it any. It'll just end up eating it and last time I checked, coins are not...

I used to visit this park when I lived in Atascadero. Had many fond memories. I brought my son while visiting family over Thanksgiving and he absolutely loved it! We came every day, sometimes multiple times a day. And when we came back home to Sacramento, he continued to talk about how much fun he had, and wished the park was closer.
