Chalk Mountain Golf Course — Attraction in Atascadero

A great place to play golf. It's a popular place and is a little pricey near holidays, but it can prove to be a great course if you're a beginner looking to step it up a little or a professional looking for a course that has its own nuances. The people who run the little snack-shack are really kind and polite, and the person at the register for the course is always nice.

Beginner friendly, but be prepared to not make anywhere near par and/or play best ball. This is the course I started on and still have yet to make under a double bogie or whatever...

Played 18 here for the first time the other day. Pace of play was slower than I would have expected for a weekday, but I think that is to be expected at affordable courses. I walked 18 and with a county card I believe totally green fees were $12. We even saw a group of deer cross the fairway on #7!

This is definitely a hilly course, so unless you're looking for a workout, a cart may be a good idea. It was hard to find grass on the driving range, so hopefully that'll look a bit better the next...

Five Stars – Fun, Challenging, and Tasty!

Chalk Mountain was such a blast! The course was fun and tough—definitely kept me on my toes, but in the best way. Super glad I got the chance to play here.

On the turn, we had to try the world-famous hot dog—and yep, it absolutely lived up to the hype. So good!

Everyone we met was super friendly and welcoming, from the pro shop to the snack bar. Great vibes all around. Already looking forward to...
