Today I visited this location. They are a legitimate massage spa. (No funny business). They were polite, the place was clean and organized. I purchased a 90 min massage with Vichy shower body scrub for a total of $110. $90 for 90 min massage and $20 for body scrub. They asked me to pay upfront and even mentioned a tip? I explained I would like to wait for my service to tip but I paid upfront for the massage and body scrub? Not sure whyntheynaskednfor payment upfront. This always makes me wonder if they are profiling.
They have the Vichy shower table set up with the overhead showers nozzles that spray your entire body. That’s so awesome because the water shoots out from the insides of the table and above you as well, so you are surrounded by water. They can turn certain nozzles off if you don’t want your hair to get wet. Other locations may have the table but not the overhead shower nozzles or the water shoots from the nozzles inside table. So this experience was top notch! My 3 stars wasn’t for the lady that did my Vichy shower body scrub. She was superb and was able to engage throughout the experience. (She gets 5 stars). Just a note about the VS, to protect your modesty, your private areas are covered. Ladies if you have not tried this, I would definitely recommend, especially a few days after waxing. The same person that did not VS, didn’t do my massage which was disappointing. She left me and went to service another client. That's when my experience changed. The lady that provided my massage was friendly, considerate and professional. Unfortunately she was not trained in Swedish massage techniques. She did not use Efflourage or Petrasauge, which are standard techniques in Swedish massage. She did not use smooth flowing strokes. She neglected to massage my neck, shoulders, lats, calves etc. She used her elbows a lot? Most of the time she just pressed her elbow onto my back. I didn’t ask for nor desired a deep tissue and trust me this was definitely not even close to that. Given her inexperience, and poor performance. I changed my 90 min massage to 60 min. My service was $80 and I tipped $30. So essentially, I tipped 24% for below average experience. Largely because I already paid in advance and didn't want to bother with getting a refund. During my massage I could hear could people talking constantly. I recommend that you remind the staff and guests to speak in whispers, as to not disturb the other guests. Also consider turning down the door bell volume, which was another constantly loud distraction. It could be heard throughout the spa. Makes it difficult for I relax with all these things going on. I understand the intent, but maybe someone should be seated at the front desk during peak hours or maybe have the bell ring in the employee areas, bathroom, laundry etc.
Thanks hope this helps other guestI I recommend them for the Vichy shower but you can't do that separate from a massage, so maybe ask for an experience therapist and skip my therapist Ms. S. Keep your expectations low, but the Vichy shower body scrub...
Read moreAs soon as you walk in Asia Massage, you are greeted by a friendly and eager staff member who speaks fairly good English, too. I was pleased to learn that all the ladies working there are licensed and very skilled in the trade. All employees wear masks and you will be asked to wear a mask also. Your temperature will be taken and you will be instructed to use sanitizer on your hands as well. The shop is spacious and clean since everything is brand new. An agreeable new-smell aroma gently permeates the building and relaxing music plays softly throughout all rooms. The bathrooms are clean and well appointed; the new Vichy shower is unique and the hot sprays are especially inviting on a cold day. Just inside the front door and to the right there are special chairs for foot massages. There is a privacy screen but it was pulled back since the chairs were empty at the moment. The hallway leading to private rooms is well lit and spacious. The rooms are sanitized and all towels, linen and other fabrics are replaced after each visitor. The massage tables are new and sturdy and there are ample hooks to hang your clothes. They have disposable paper covers to protect your face during the massage too. You get a very nice feeling when you begin to realize how clean and well managed this business is. Throughout the massage, the masseuse is respectful and professional. Each time I get a massage here, my private parts remained covered at all times and never is there any inappropriate touching. I have been going to this great place since the day it opened and have never been disappointed. I don't typically write reviews but was moved to doing so after reading a somewhat unflattering review from Dr. CH R. Never have I been pressured for a tip and in fact, I even forgot to leave a tip one time and there was never a word said to me about it (Don't worry though, I made up for it the next time I was in ;-). I have gotten to know the woman who manages the shop and I promise you she has high expectations of her staff and does not tolerate any rude or unprofessional behavior. I highly recommend Asia Massage if you want a healthful and relaxing massage. Everything here is professional, clean, legal and above board. And there is absolutely no pressure for a tip or anything else for that matter. Believe me, you will...
Read moreI suffered from very painful tendinitis in my elbow for months. After one visit (with Mia), I had more relief and movement in my arm, then after several doctor visits and shots! After seeing how much better my arm was, my husband wanted to try it out (he has extreme tendonitis in one leg, arthritis, and plantar fasciitis). So, on the next visit, I scheduled a couples massage. Mia was busy, but the two ladies they gave us, Lucy and Kimmie, were wonderful!! He walked out pain free, with more flexibility in his ankle than I've seen in a loooooong time!! And my arm felt even better than the first visit. :) Cannot sing their praises enough. Pleasant atmosphere, clean, and all the ladies seem very sensitive and intuitive to any problem areas. Plus, they cost significantly lower than physical therapists. P.S. I already booked our next three...
