My family and I frequent locos every other week. We always have wings and they are always delicious. My problems seems to be with the wait staff. As a wounded combat veteran I have come to realize that when I'm out with my family in a public place eating the only comfortable wait for me to sit is with my back against the wall and facing a exit if possible. Without this my anxiety is through the roof and I can't stay for longer then a few minutes. I understand when your packed this can't always happen and I understand but I would say a good 75% of the time we go here my request is ignored. When this happens I ask again if I can be accommodated when it's denied again my family and I leave. This isnt that big of a problem, however when we are seated and have to wait 30 minutes for our drinks, longer for refills and I can see my waitress talking to a employee or on their phone then it's a problem. This hardly ever happens but tonight took the cake. I understand when it's a hour before close you want to go home Yada Yada but you do not show that to the patrons of your restaurant. My wife and I are covered in tattoos so I would hope that this doesn't play a role in our treatment considering its 2016. I normally would leave a $20 tip for our $41 bill being in the service industry myself I understand the importance of tipping. I can't bring myself to not leave a tip for horrible service so I left $3 and change. I hope you realize the importance of good customer service and what it brings to the table along with great food. We came in around 9pm 6/27/16. Our waitress was a blonde headed young lady I would tell the name but she didn't introduce herself at the beginning of our service. I hope this is fixed we do...
Read moreFirst time ever eating at a Locos and ill say it was ok. First off the service was amazing. He was very friendly and attentive. I also like that people bring their dogs if they are sitting on the outside patio. However the chairs outside were not the most comfortable. I also ordered their wings which are supposed to be a big stable of their menu and they were very mediocre. The size of the wings would fall under the small size and I also ordered their x-hot flavor and asked that the wings be extra crispy. The wings were not crispy and the wing sauce was extremely bland. I did get a side of Cajun fries which were really, really good. Even though I'm not a fan of the wings their menu does have a lot of options so I would prob try them again just to see if the experience would be different food wise. EDIT - So we came back to this place on Tuesday night for my brother's gfs bday and the food was terrible. First the place was dead, so there should have been no reason why the food was awful. I ordered 10 lemon pepper wings and fries. I asked our waitress if the lemon pepper wing sauce was a wet sauce and she said yes, but when the wings arrived it was a dry rub. But even then the wings had almost no lemon pepper seasoning on them. And then I asked for them to he extra crispy and they came out extra chewy. My brother got the spicy chicken sandwich and he said it had no spice to it at all. His gf got the bbq nachos with pork and it had almost no pork and barely any BBQ sauce. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had...
Read moreRecently I went to this Athens location, and ordered the "Looney Bird", as I have many times in the past, and love them. They're usually a good size deli type sandwich, and end up taking half home for the next day. This visit, I received a 'Fast food' size sandwich, on small burger bun, vs onion roll (as on menu), for $9.99+.
My wine glass was dirty, with lipstick stains (not mine) on the entire rim.
Pasta side, usually delicious, very bland and not up to Loco's usual standards. Very disappointed.
My bartender, who is usually Karen, was off, but the young lady (didn't have her name) who served me was very nice, changed my dirty glass, served me with a smile, and very nice. I was tired, hungry and didn't feel like waiting for my "fast food" looking sandwich/salad to be changed, ate, and left a grateful gratuity for her. Having been in the Hospitality/Restaurant industry for 30+ yrs, in all capacities, I know that servers/bartendress, etc. work for less than minimum wage, and count on their "tips" as their survival wages.
I will go back to this Loco's location, for another try. But hope they come back up and meet their usual "Excellent" standards.
I know that the price of all food products has escalated lately, and truly understand you're in business to make money, especially after going through the horrific Covid-19 Pandemic. However, don't raise your prices, and lower your quality of food and service, or you will lose me, and others, to defeat your purpose.
Good luck in the future, and hopefully my next visit is...
