Regular and loyal customers, however after this evening’s poor service not sure when we will return. Arrived at 4:40pm, placed water orders and queso order, then margaritas after having to ask for a menu, wasn’t carded by the way. Still no water, two tables came after us, they got their water and sodas, asked for water again, still nothing, asked different server for water after we placed margarita order; other table that was seated after us, was eating sandwiches and burritos at this time, before we got water. Later our drinks came and then later we placed our food order, was very specific with food order as we are regulars. Food came out wrong, ask to have it fix, came out wrong again, sent it back and then by the time it can back, I sent it back and stated I didn’t want it due to to hassle and poor service. Informed the manager, she made excuses about shift changes and then said we were only there for 25mins, at this time it was 535pm, what does time have to do with the order being wrong? Asked for the check, manager brought it without taking off my meal, tried to get our server, or anyone’s, attention, we were ignored. Went to the server at computer, she stated that the manager had to make the changes, yes the manager that gave us the check to begin with. When the manager brought the check, I asked for contact info for general manager, she stated it was her. I expressed that as a regular customer, I was displeased with the way she handled the situation and made excuses, she was defensive and said she only had 1 server, that was not true, likbut I said, we handled another server for the Water, there were at least 3 other servers plus her visible. Provided my feedback and she remained defensive, I explained to her that she wasn’t being empathetic towards the situation with the overall service, my complain was with the service, not the actual food, but service with wrong food order coming out and not getting our water and drinks while other tables that came after us had their food and Water before us, she focused on food and us being there 25 minutes, which was not the case. Then went on to say that she hope that customers can be sympathetic towards poor service, asked why that would be when other tables had food and water before we did but came in after us. Explained that last time we had the same server, we had a poor experience and did not complain as we thought maybe she was new. However, after a 2nd bad experience wanted to provide feedback so that there can be improvement. It took going back and forth with the general manager before she apologized and asked as she understood the issue being about poor service and not well trained server/staff as it was our 2nd experience with that same server. Also, she still did not offer any explanation for why the other tables with the same server had food and drinks before we had water, poor service. Overall, very disappointed in experience and that the leadership is poor which explains why the servers provide poor service in addition to messing up the orders. I hope the owner reads this review and addresses it as the food has been delicious but with poor service it is not worth it; we have options in Athens and they need to acknowledge that; also service makes for an experience which is why we have chosen to go there in addition to it being close to our home, however with poor service I will tell everyone about the last two experiences and also how poorly the gene beak manager handled the situation, most people do out to eat for ease, enjoyment, convenience, etc. but to get mistreated and have the wrong order given to them and have a defensive response to feedback that could help with improvement, general manager did not seem to put customers first, hopefully this...
Read moreThere are many better choices for Mexican food here in Athens. The last two times we have been to Agua Linda there have been serious concerns. Besides service being slow, poor customer service, etc there has been food concerns which were ignored. A reasonable person would assume if the food took a long time to come out it was due to being prepared fresh but not here. The food takes forever to come out and when it does it is cold, grease has gotten gelatinous/solidified in the food and the presentation is a haphazard plate of food almost mixed together. Again, this is not the first instance but an ongoing concern. In addition, two of the three meals ordered the meal was cold and not cooked and when brought to the servers attention they whisked the plate away without a word. A manager returns to the table and explains the meal was inspected and is good instead it becomes our fault for not understanding how the prepared meat should taste or be presented. Wait, there is more, yesterday we ordered and the meat was rancid smelling. We were told the meat in all the dishes ordered was acceptable to the cook and the manager stated the issue was the “onions’. She continued an attempt to convince our eating party that the rancid meat was due to onions which “sat in the bottom of a container” that may or may not have developed a bad taste and odor. Hmm, two of our dishes had no onions so I find fault in their logic. As quick as the rehearsed explanation was given the manager disappeared from table side to avoid any further discussion or questions. This restaurant is extremely over-priced for what you get (possible food poisoning included) and what you pay for… I try not to vent complaints in the open I would rather address it with staff and such and just not comment about a restaurants poor performance. Read moreThey are exceptionally amazing!! I called in at 11 am w/a big order. Not knowing how or what I wanted to do. I just knew the framing crew knocked the framing out of the park. I "we" as a company wanted to show our appreciation for the hard work. So the lady who answered was like you wanna feed 8 people? I started explaining what I thought I wanted she said wait I believe catering will be alot more helpful. She was so right they're on top of their game. He got on the phone and we began talking and I told him the crew was Spanish and I ate alot of true authentic Mexican food that I wanted to do tacos for 8 but 1/2 chicken & 1/2 beef so he said how would you like to do this individual or what I sd it would be better to actually have it separate and every on e put their own together. If you have ever gotten tacos to go w/corn tortilla you know it's a bad idea to do this so he got that then he was like rice or beans I said let's do both and we needed extra hot sauces. They took care of us they got the cilantro and onion mix made up plenty of cheese and lettuce tomatoes utensils then I said what about something to drink he thought for a sec he said he had some gallon jugs so I asked if they had horshata (this may be spelled wrong) he stopped for a sec wait a white guys ordering a Spanish drink. He said yes we have this I said great let's do gallon of tea & a gallon of horshata then I asked about ice well they don't sell ice we got that worked out also.
Everything was amazing I really appreciate how they were ready in 45 min cause I know we talked for atleast 15 min
