Really tiny, and REALLY loud. I'm not usually an earplugs kinda guy, but if you are seeing a show with ANY high end, you will probably leave with ears bleeding (in a bad, "not-because-you-were-rocking-so-hard-but-because-the-sound-guy-doesn't-know-that-high-freqiencies-physically-hurt" way).
It can be hard to get parking if you don't know where to go either. (Hint: one block down from Aisle 5 there's a suburban street that has free parking always, and long as you aren't a dick and block someone's house).
The drinks are, well, the price you'd expect for a venue, so no surprises there.
I would have given this place a 2 stars, but I saw Blank Banshee here, and that was the greatest show of my life. I hung around afterwards and got to meet him and give him a hug. Also, the bartender grabbed me one of the SUPER rare concert posters for the even for FREE (I was ready to drop like $10 on it, so I gave it to him as a tip). they only started kind of acting like they cared when my friend informed them that there was a man acting weird toward me earlier in the night. The man backed into me and pinned me against the wall by the bar. their response was "oh well your friend didn't say that" UHHH I WAS NEARLY UNCONSCIOUS???
so awful and violating that this happened to me and they did not...

My biggest complaint is that the theater was HELL-MELTINGLY HOT. My experience and my friends experiences were ruined because of this. Management did not turn on any a/c, or even any decent fans. Even the performer kept commenting on how brutally hot it was in there. For such a misery-inducing climate, you might think the house would charge less than $22.50 per ticket, especially considering that a) the theater is (almost entirely) standing room only; and b) David Wilcox was playing one-door over at the Variety Playhouse for $17.50 per ticket. The Five Spot is...
