Be warned, long review incoming (food only)—I went with my bf as we live in the area and wanted to try something new than our usual go-to place in Little Five. It was about 6PM on a Wednesday.
There were a couple of guys just standing outside the door and as we walked up, they both went in and one of them said we could sit anywhere & a server would see us shortly. A bit odd, but no big deal. Sat down and waited…and waited. Besides the first guy who said we can sit anywhere, no one else came around to even take our drink order and no one else around to flag down either. The place wasn’t all that busy, maybe three or four parties of 2 sitting nearby. About 10-15 minutes after sitting down, someone finally shows up. She asked if a server came around and we replied no, so she sent in our order instead. We ordered an appetizer to start us off and I got the pho. My bf ordered the 3 taco option.
Remember the two gentlemen in the beginning? Well, the other was a customer and when he finally got his food (he said he waited almost a hour??) it tasted TERRIBLE. He had a loud argument with a male server/cook(?) in the hallway near the bar where we were sitting. Didn’t hear the exact words per se as the music was loud, but it seemed like the restaurant offered to remake his food, however the gentleman was not having it. He kept trying to get the person to eat it to prove it tastes terrible lol. It went back and forth and eventually he left.
And at this point, my bf and I should have just left too as we waited 45 minutes before we received our food. My bf just wanted to leave as soon as the gentleman from above left and me being a pacifist said it was rude and we should just stay. I regret my words. Throughout this, no one came to check up on us or tell us anything and again, no one to flag down. When our food finally arrived, my “pho” was oily noodle soup with 4 pieces of stringy brisket. No side plate of toppings (as the menu states) like other pho places unless they forgot? At least I had the sauces 🤷🏻♀️ a different server dropped off the food and left before we could ask if we can get the water we ordered?? Or ETA of our appetizer?? Hello??? No apology or reason on why we had to wait so long either. I barely ate my food as I wished I had water to chug down the oiliness. My bf scarfed down his food (so no pictures) as we were hangry at this point. When the same server finally comes around to where we were sitting, we just asked for the check & water and asked to take off the app as we never got it. She brings the check and the water (finally jfc), and what do you know, our elusive appetizer arrives too—server said the kitchen was backed up on orders (what orders?? there’s only two other groups hookah-ing). Still, no apology. Also no one mentioned the added 20% gratuity either?? We had left at this point and as I was reading reviews of this place (why is the rating so high??) someone mentioned it. We wondered why our total came out to more than it was (1 app+2 entrees should’ve been $40 not $50) I don’t know if they provide an itemized bill as my bf paid on the handheld device where you only saw the total and option of leaving tip.
TLDR — service was terrible, food was meh, music was decent. ALSO WATCH OUT FOR THE ADDED GRATUITY even for a...
Read moreThe ambience was nice, music was lit it was a vibe but the service I had on Sunday was horrible. I came in with a friend and got seated immediately. Cool! waitress came within five minutes got us our menus and we both started with a water.
After that it went downhill, waitress came back I ordered boba tea, crab rangoons, and the steak “pho’cos” while my friend got pho and strawberry refresher. We got our other drinks but we waited so long to get our crab rangoons that I finished my water and boba tea before it came because it took so long. Then my friend got her pho maybe 15-20 minutes later after we both ate the rangoons. I’m not sure if it was our waitress or the kitchen but someone forgot my pho’cos and I had to remind my waitress about it after my friend was trying to wait for me to get my food before she devoured hers. Well by the time I got my pho’cos my friend (who didn’t know how to use chopsticks and purposely ate slow) was nearly done with her pho. When I tell you I waited over an hour for ONE steak taco. Me and my friend looked at each other in disbelief when I got my plate and she whispered to me I’m so sorry. Imagine waiting so long and starving and watching people come after you LEAVE before you and they come out with the one little taco you’ve been waiting over an hour for.
“PHO’COS” is singular for one taco people and the menu didn’t help that it showed multiple tacos in the pictures. I felt that everything about it was VERY misleading. When I mentioned that to the waitress she said, “I told you it’s only one.I make sure to tell everyone that.” Well me and my friend knew she definitely didn’t because she was training someone behind her explaining what we ordered.
After all that the bill has a mandatory 20% service gratuity… FOR THAT SERVICE? WOW!!!
I left and had to grab food...
Read moreEarlier in the week, I visited this restaurant. It was pretty empty, I assume because it is fairly new.
I work with a nonprofit organization here and Atlanta, and I spoke with a worker that day about potentially collaborating with the restaurant in an attempt to drive traffic to this location and also building a working relationship. She was very nice and stated that she thought it was a great idea and would pass the information along.
We never heard back, and decided to give the restaurant a call. When I called a man answered the phone. I asked to speak to a manager, and he asked why in a very rude tone. I then proceeded to explain that we visited the restaurant earlier in the week and would love to collaborate with them, however, before I could finish speaking, he cut me off and stated, "There is no soliciting here, and I don't want to talk to you" and proceeded to hang up. I called back, as I was unsure if this was the manager or a general team member, however, upon answering the second time the man stated "What part of I don't want to talk to you do you not understand?" I told him that I'm not trying to solicit or collect money for anything, I was simply trying to build a working relationship with his business, he then responded and stated "I don't want to talk to you" I then hung up the phone, as I did not want to be a bother.
Being that we are all small businesses, it is important for us to stick together. I completely respect anyone not wanting to working with someone, but I feel there is a way to talk to people, as well as handle situations and whoever was on the phone for this business was very rude and...
