I don't get to Little Five Points as often as I used to, so I was ecstatic to discover that Niramish was still open! I spent the entire day craving their mulligatawny. You know how when you crave something that intensely, the end product rarely meets your expectations? This was absolutely not the case last night! One sip of that warm, tangy, delicately spiced soup and my senses were thrust into overdrive! I became that annoying person in the restaurant who has to punctuate every other bite of food with expressions of delight! Rewind just a bit. I had eaten a very carb-heavy lunch that say, so I wanted something light like mulligatawny that would still fill me up. I hadn't counted on my husband ordering samosas and garlic naan. I tell you truthfully, both are the best you will find in Atlanta! The samosas are perfectly cooked - never greasy, not too bready, bursting with pillowy potatoes. And the naan...so fresh and fluffy and warm! So much for avoiding those carbs! Finally, I must mention the salmon bhoona my husband ordered as his entree. The sauce was intoxicating in its depth and richness (perfect for dipping buttery naan into), and the salmon was expertly prepared. Not a scrap was left behind! Don't be fooled by the no-frills interior....
Read moreAfter much debate, I decided to write this review. First of all, I will say I had great customer service when I first called to place my order. The food was delivered in a timely manner, but didn't taste the best. However, the issue occurred when the delivery driver came. I came down to tip, however, only had a $20 bill on me (I already paid for the food online). The driver only had $11. My total was only $18 so a $9 is a bit excessive. At first he was very nice about and was like it's okay, it's not a big deal, don't worry about it. I felt bad about so I told him I would call or stop by the restaurant when I get the chance to tip him. An hour later I get 3-4 missed calls from the driver when I was sleeping. The next day, I get 3 missed called from Niramish while I was in class. At this point, I didn't care how the food was, I felt embarrassed to even come into the restaurant for a mere $3-4 tip. This is ridiculous! Is this how you treat your customers?! If I wasn't willing to tip , I would have never offered to begin with, but the driver AND the restaurant calling multiple times is absolutely absurd. Awful experience, I will not...
Read moreWe have been ordering from Niramish weekly for nearly a year and have always been super impressed, however the last few times the food was dismal and also chronically late (I will say I love the delivery drivers and have high suspicions that is on the restaurant, not them).
We took about a month hiatus from ordering due to our dissatisfaction with the quality. Today is likely the last time we will order from our staple Indian restaurant. Literally everything was tasteless and lacking. The rice was a joke, the chana masala was devoid of any flavor, the naan was almost powdery. Everything tasted canned and without any semblance of passion or care.
I almost want to cry about it honestly. The food wasn't inedible... it was simply not good. And that is a feeling that I have always gotten from here. So I'm sad about it. :(
I have to give 2 stars because I still have hope it can be turned around, maybe it's changed hands? New chef and learning curves? Yall getchur stuff...
