Be prepared to wait even though you have an appointment time and the prices are on the higher side. My only expectation for this appointment was to be on time and to leave on time (with everything done the same day).
My personal experience: I recently relocated to Georgia and I was looking for places to go and figured I would try the HairLoft because I follow them on Instagram and they had an available appointment on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 4pm so I booked right away (keep in mind this was my day off from work)
I booked with Dee short for DeAndrea because I didn't understand what Level 1 or 2 meant on the website and the website did not explain this so I picked randomly (this could easily be fixed with a short definition or years of experience put by the stylist name).
My appointment time according to the confirmation from the salon was 4pm-5pm (VERY IMPORTANT) this was for a Silk Press +Hydration Treatment +Haircut. Cost $160.00 for a level 2 stylist (still not sure what that means). I only left a $10.00 tip because well keep reading....
I arrive to the salon at 3:30pm because traffic is terrible here and I wanted to make sure I made my appointment time. I'm taking back to the shampoo bowl right away and on my way to the shampoo bowl, I am thanked by the stylist for showing up early to my appointment.
By 4:20pm I am washed, had my hair treatment, and my hair blown out ready to go into the chair for the haircut and silk press (the salon had at least 3 shampoo girls and they rotated with blowing out the hair). I'm thinking this process is so efficient until 5:30pm rolls around and I'm still not in the chair (no one communicates anything with me about running behind). I see another client in front of me and I have to leave at 5:45pm because I had to be back home, keep in mind my appointment time was from 4-5 (I have the email confirmation sent from the salon).
So I tell the stylist I have to leave and be back at my house by 6:15 (the drive from my house to the salon is 30-40 minutes depending on traffic that day) and she asked if I could come back later that night, or tomorrow Wednesday, January 3, 2024 but I already had something planned because my appointment time was from 4-5. The only day I could come back was Thursday after work (I get off at 4pm and traffic starts to get bad here around 3pm). I am told to come back Thursday after work at 4:30 so she can finish my hair. So I pay for my service that I did get (wash, hair treatment, and my hair blown out). I was told not to put any product in my hair so I went to work with frizz blown out hair.
I arrived back at the salon on Thursday at 4:30 on the dot for the cut and silk press but tell me why another client is in the chair after I was told to be there at 4:30. The kicker for me was they went outside to take pictures for Instagram and I've been waiting since Tuesday to get my hair finish. At this point I'm so over this lady and place. I finally get in the chair at 5pm. The inconvenience overshadowed anything this lady could possibly due to my hair. I'm finally done by 5:30 and this lady has the nerve to try and take pictures of my hair :/ completely done-the audacity.
To Management: The point of running a successful business is to get customers but also retain them (this is not the way). If you are paying 3 shampoo girls and the appointment times are still not being met- something is flawed with your business model or the people you have working for you. A friendly disclaimer on your website about the wait times or just someone communicating to clients that the stylist is running behind would go a long way.
I hope this helps anyone who recently moved here and looking for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo I am not one to write reviews, but this warrants one. So I am very particular when it comes to my hair. I do not like change nor do I like a bunch of people in my hair. I have been in Atlanta for 21 years and it took me almost 10 of those years to find a really good hairdresser. I ended up finding one and I followed her for years from place to place. I was going to make an appointment with her, But I did not feel like going the distance since I now live in the West end. I googled "Natural hair care near me" and Hair Loft Atlanta popped up. I read the reviews, went to the website and even started following on instagram. I wanted to book an appointment before thanksgiving but they had no availability. I was tempted to drive the distance to my previous hairdresser, but for some reason I kept being drawn to them. They updated their instagram page to say they had Dec bookings available So I jumped on that. I made the appointment and am so glad that I did. When I walked in I was greeted right away and taken back to the shampoo area. The young ladies who shampoo are amazing. The young lady who shampooed me was very sweet. She asked was the water temperature ok, was my scalp itching anywhere. She really made me feel like she cared. Even when I went under the steamer for my hydration treatment she checked on me. After she rinsed out my conditioner my scalp felt amazing. She was very gentle when it came to blow drying my hair. She took care of me like she was the hair stylist. Then came the Queen Ms. Karma. She is the GOAT. She is very sweet and nice. She was very personable. She felt like the best friend you never knew you needed. The shop vibe is also really amazing. Even though everyone had someone in their chair and they were talking they were still working. I never saw anyone just standing around. I was able to ask questions about my hair and Karma was able to answer them honestly and it made me feel good. She made me feel like I was important. To Karma thank you so much for not just doing my hair but being really making me feel like I had been coming to you for years. Don't ever change who you are. For the owner of the shop Ms. Charly Queen, keep doing what your doing because its working. Your shop is beautiful, the atmosphere is a whole vibe and it felt good to be among my sisters. Its hard enough out here for "us" so its nice to see "us" winning. So for those of you ladies who are looking for someone to do your hair this is the place to go. You might go in not looking your best, but Babbby when you come out you will look like a million bucks.
P.S I already made my appointment...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGot my hair done at Hair Loft Atlanta by the owner, Charley, a little over a week ago. I had waited awhile to be able to get an appointment with her the first time when she did my silk press, but I loved the results, so I was excited to try a sew-in this time. That excitement quickly ended once I got there. To make a long story short, my appointment was at 2PM & I did not leave there until after 9PM. I sat for almost an hour waiting to get my hair washed, because they said the water was cold. By time they finally did wash it, it still was cold. Then I sat & sat some more. It came time for my hair to be braided which literally took the assistant almost 2 hours to do. The braids were loose and the ends were just left loose in the back. When I finally made it to Charleyās chair, she undid part of it and tried to secure it better but as I speak I can literally feel the braids and rubber bands sticking out the back of the hair. I paid $575 total including the bundles, but unfortunately, she cut the track of the bundles even after I asked her not to. Which most people know that I will not be able to reuse the hair, because other stylist donāt install cut bundles. (Complete waist of my money)
Once it was done, I was clearly ready to go. I paid, got in my car and got on the highway. When I finally touched my hair. I realized one of the tracks were standing straight up, at the top of my head. And I could not get the hair to lay down. I had to turn back around and go back. Sat for another 15 minutes until finally another stylist (Karma) was nice enough to help me. I was so frustrated by 10pm when I got back in my car , that I was literally in tears. This by far was the worst experience Iāve ever had with a hairstylist period. Very disappointing, and I hate that I paid so much money for a poor quality braid down, install, and cut tracks. To top it all off, not even 5 days after the appt, my tracks started coming out at 3 different spots. Thank God a friend of mine was able to sew it back in for me. I went back and forth with if I was going to leave a review, but I just donāt appreciate the service I received and I donāt...
