ZERO STARS. Do not be fooled by their low prices- it is a reflection of their service and the quality of their lasers. Also, they do not give refunds!!
I have been a customer for 2+ years, and I would never consider going back. In the past year, their service has been beyond horrible. I have 3 sessions remaining and have given up on going in.
There have been countless times that I arrive for my appointment on time, and I end up waiting 30 minutes to be taken in. For about 7 of my sessions recently, I did not feel the laser-like I used to and my hair was growing back much faster, which really defeats the purpose of getting laser hair removal.
One time in the middle of my appointment, the laser stopped working. After waiting about 15-20 minutes and only half of my body was done, I had to schedule to come back in and finish the rest on another day.
It is very common that the YAG laser (if you have melanin, this is the type of laser you'd need- they only have 1) stops working.
The estheticians (Lea & Tatiana) have had have been great unfortunately, there is typically only one working and no backups/ coverage for them.
Keep an eye on your charges from this place. I was charged for missing an appointment when I never missed it.
My most recent appointment was scheduled for Saturday and I have confirmation emails and texts for that. On Saturday I am getting a message saying my appointment is on Sunday. When I called, they were not able to accommodate me even though I was scheduled. I then adjusted my schedule to go on Sunday. On Sunday, just an hour before my appointment, I was called and told that the esthetician, Lea, was sick and throwing up in the back. They did not have coverage and my appointment was then rescheduled to Monday, which I really had to fight for. About 15 minutes after the call, I received a call back saying I can come in if I would like to. I asked who would conduct my appointment was told it would be Lea, who was sick- "throwing up in the back". I asked why she would be staying if I was just told she is sick- the staff member said that others were not able to reschedule and are upset so she would stay and finish working. I expressed that my health came first and I did not want my appointment to be with a sick employee, especially given COVID. I am not sure how that was ethically okay on their part. On Monday morning, I get a call saying my appointment is being canceled due to my esthetician, Tatiana, having a family emergency. Once again, they have no one to cover these employees who are sick or out for emergencies. I was asked to come in at 1PM. I have a job which is why I scheduled for a Saturday appointment and had rescheduled so many times after and adjusted my work schedule on Monday only to be told I cannot come in. I shaved on Friday to prep for the Saturday appointment, which is no small feat. They recommend you shave 24 hours prior to the appointment for the laser to be most effective- with canceled appointments this would obviously not be the case. At this point is when I gave up and decided I will no longer be returning to this place.
The owner, Lisa, is never there and there is no good way to contact her. The staff in the front, whose not at fault, says they will relay the feedback to her and make sure these things do not happen again, but that is clearly not the case.
I do not recommend going to Skin Matters unless you would like to pay for constant inconveniences, low-quality results, and...
Read moreI’m honestly more embarrassed with myself for even thinking this place was a good idea. I don’t go cheap when it comes to my face but I thought $2 a unit too good to be true right?!! RIGHT. I normally get my injections done at my dermatologist and decided I’ll try something new. You truly get what you pay for it’s so enticing how cheap it is. However don’t go cheap for Botox or Dysport just don’t. I received a Groupon for this place (first red flag) and came in to get Dysport. I’ve had Dysport in the past few months right before my wedding no issues. The appointment went great they were super nice and seemed knowledgeable. I even let the girl experiment on my face and put Dysport in my chin (this is my fault so I’m not even mad I just recognize how dumb I was). So seemed great no issues. I scheduled actually another appointment for today to get filler. But about two days ago the side effects kicked in and I started experiencing double vision which I’ve never had happen before and my smile droops almost like I’ve had a stroke. So immediately I decided I’m not getting filler but I do want to consult them about what’s happening. When I showed up for my appointment today and none of the injection nurses showed up. The sweet nurse on call Dana was calling the owner and trying to get in contact with anyone. No one answered their phone. Finally she gave me the number of the owner because I was worried I needed to see a neurologist (which I am going to see because I mean I’m having trouble driving now) After a few hours the owner apologetically got back to me and offered me free microdermabrasion which kind of her but no thank you you guys are not going anywhere near my face again. I give the owner grace too because she was moving and not her fault the nurse messed up her scheduled time. I’m not even upset about the results again for $2 a unit they could be injecting water for all I know but more so that I sat there for 30 minutes with no answers. Finally they asked me if I wanted to reschedule another time and I said absolutely not considering there’s no guarantee anyone would show up. I should have known it would go wonky when the girl got the days mixed up for the booking. Again I don’t know how I expected any different. All that to say is just be careful don’t cheap out on filler and Botox. Go to an actual professional like a dermatologist or even Dermani Med Spa is amazing been going to them for years I’m going to see if they can fix this stroke face. Just pay the extra money it’s worth the investment trust me. This has been a learning lesson for me for now I will just be half blind till this thing wears off.
Update because this business won't stop harassing me regarding this. My chin has gone back to normal, as for the double vision we are going on month two of not being able to see.=I went to the doctor and now have to wear an eye patch. The only solution is waiting for it to wear off so I'm hoping that will be soon. As far as wanting any free service for my troubles NOOOOOOOO thank you. Please stop blowing...

The damage and multiple scarring was created due to the the employee placing chemical peel on my face right after a microdermabrasion, under the influence of drugs, and the scarring is still visible to this day. It became apparent to me during the process that the young lady who treated my face, may be on drugs as her behavior was very erratic, she was very jittery, moving around the room in a whirlwind as if she kept losing her train of thought. She was also talking super fast as if she couldn't stay still, along with large dilated pupils. I use to work as a nurse assistant so I am familiar with the signs of someone being intoxicated on drug substances, even though I didn't stop to think about it, and put all of the signs together until after she had completed my treatment, but I became alarmed when she asked me not to say anything to the staff about putting the chemical peel on my face after the microdermabrasion, because she could get in trouble. After a day or so my upper lip and facial area above my lip got very swollen, and was hot to the touch, tender and I had red broken skin areas on several places on my face, so i went to urgent care and was told I had am infection on my face due to the procedure. I had to receive a antibiotic injection to get rid of infection. I contacted the staff at skin matters and eventually after several attempts got in touch with the owner Lisa Mangrum, who at the time wanted to help an attempted to treat my face twice but was unsuccessful in getting the scarring that occurred at her business to fade, and in the midst of that she tried to use an IPL laser on my melanated skin and left me with another blemish to my skin that i still have and never gained my color back to that area she tested. The owner Lisa was going through a difficult divorce at the time and I was very patient with her however she never completed trying to correct the damage that was done, I waited for over a year for her to get her personal affairs in order and even would even call just to pray with her during her difficult divorce. I am highly disappointed and very frustrated with the outcome of my skin and the follow through on the commitment the owner promised to get my face cleared of the damage caused, and I feel as if she used her divorce as a sympathy card to string me along until, she would no longer under law be obligated to correct the damage to my face. Please be careful going to this establishment. Life lesson for me was having sympathy, empathy and being nice to someone when they are going through a tough time in life, is ok but make sure you get your business taken care of when it comes to making sure a situation is handled...
