Reply to Manager: Thank you for explaining your unpleasant attitude towards me and cutting my cuticle was due to you not wanting to put ā9-10 humpā (lol) SNS coats on my nails. I wish you would have explained that to me before doing a less than average job on my nails. I would have paid extra for your time and your powder. Or you could have told me you will no longer be doing ā9-10 humpā SNS coats. I suggest not voluntarily performing a service and then change your mind about providing that service. When I made the appt, I asked the person on the phone if Friday night or Saturday afternoon would be better, and she said it didnāt matter as long as I had a appt. Or I wouldāve even come in on a Monday or Tuesday. Thatās the purpose of making an appt prior. By the time you finished my nails, you sat down in the pedicure chair because there were no customers. Besides, you bragged about how you have customers in your shop until 9 or 10 all the time and didnāt mind. Why would you tell me that if itās an issue? By the way, I may have been in the shop late a couple times, but you definitely werenāt doing MY for 3 hours. At least an hour was spent waiting or getting my toes done. Lastly, if you didnāt see anything wrong with my nails the first time I came from the other shop, then how would you fix it, if there was nothing wrong? I explained it was not what I asked for. You listened, fixed it (even though it was nothing wrong according to your reply), and happily did my nails the perfect way I like them for 2 additional times. Bottom line. I suggest not providing a service and switching up at the last minute without notifying the customer. Itās rude. Good Luck with your shop. Blessings!
Original Review: Before my experience yesterday at Suzy Q Nail Bar, I would have rated this establishment a 10. The reviews about customer service and quality of work were accurate for my first 3 visits. I even referred some friends and bragged about the great service. I made an appt the day before my appt this time. When I got there, Q didnāt give me a bowl to start soaking off my SNS until 30 min after getting there, which is standard. So, I continued to watch a video on my phone as I patiently waited. When she started on my nails, she cut my cuticle. She didnāt apologize or acknowledge it. She just put some anticeptic on it and continued. I demonstrated on my nails the length I wanted. She cut my nails all the way down. Normally, Q would continue to ask me throughout the experience if everything looked ok. This time she made it seem like I was bothering her, even when I tried to make small talk and laugh with her (like previous times). The top coat kept bubbling, so she appeared visibly upset with ME for that. After she redid the topcoat on my thumb, she said it was dry and to wash my hands. I said I was ok, and would wash when I got home, because I was scared to mess it up but she insisted. Of course, it messed up when I washed my hands. She said something I didnāt understand and became passive aggressive. Then, slapped another layer of top coat on my thumb. I paid and left. I called the nail shop about 30 minutes later to tell her about how disappointed I was with my experience this time, thinking she would maybe just say she was having a bad day and maybe apologize. Nope. Q was very nonchalant. So, I say all this to say, Suzy Q Nail Bar is a clean nail shop full of talent and great customer service, IF they are having a great day and feel like providing their best service. I hope you never choose to visit on one of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām a pretty hard critic on salons as I am very particular about my nails. However, this is one of the better ones Iāve been to. I came around 1pm on a Sunday.
I liked my Milk and Honey pedicure, my toenail shape came out nice, the color was neatly applied and I saw a lot of dead skin come off in the callous removal process. I was also able to soak for awhile which I appreciated. It didnāt feel rushed.
I also got a manicure that started off really great, she got a lot of dead skin off my cuticles. I got a white acrylic overtop of my very short natural nails.
What I liked- my nail shape, and thickness and for the most part the cuticle area is neat-ish ( better than other salons Iāve been too)
What i disliked- During the filing process, she was rough on my freshly manicured cuticles with the drill. I feel like they would have came out better if the nail tech wasnāt moving so fast, the owner (the guy who I assume is the owner, supervising and not doing nails) was rushing his techs along because there were customers starting to have a long wait
Overall I took 2 stars away for some messy ness around the cuticle and for rushing....
Other than that I actually enjoyed my experience for the most part and will most...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience at Suzy Q wasnāt great. I was there for my best friends birthday and at first the service was great they gave us the baskets of nail colors and everyone was super nice. Then the man was soaking my nails to get my gel polish that was on off so I could get a new color. I was sitting there for about 45 minutes just having my nails soaking in water and I didnāt know what to do and the man was just walking around doing nothing when he couldāve been helping me get my gel off. Finally after multiple times trying to get his attention I got it and he got someone else to do my nails and in the first place he said and I quote, I will be doing your nails today which color? Like what! After all my nails did look pretty but I donāt think they are satisfactory for how long and the price point for my nails. By the way my nails were $40 dollars which I think is crazy for how long I waited at least please a little discount for waiting. So overall maybe I would go there but I would have to...
