Great. Every one of the eighty weekly meetings has its own flavor, its own cast (some are characters, some have character!)
Recovery is powerful, and while it doesn't always feel open and welcoming, each week there are thousands of people who walk through the doors, and many of them are kind and gracious, no matter how long they've been on their journey.
It took a long time to learn that long-time sobriety in people does not mean for sure they are full of serenity and wisdom. If i had a dollar for every time I saw childish, immature, deviant behavior from someone who was sober for a decade or more, it would cover the coffee ☕ budget.
Now i appreciate depth of diversity, the access to kindly and graciously shared experience, strength and hope. The best DAILY meetings are Early Bird (730a) and TriNoon each day. The lowest attended daily meetings are at 4p, 545p, and 10p.

Read moreAfter one year out of pocket, I made the 7pm meeting this evening at Triangle club. The group was small but welcoming, the NA meeting was nearly packed full. The group was welcoming and warm with real shares. I marked my one year, out of pocket with the group. I could hear a broadcast but I guess meetings are now wired. Whatever the case, I was happy I took MARTA to the location and met with friends. I can only hope for anonymity. The club house has an outside area with places to sit, coffee, and two levels. Fairly standard group and experience, not for the faint of heart if you are an alcoholic, there is a package liquor on the corner. Great to know a decade can pass and AA...
Read moreI have attended meetings with friends before and I felt the most comfortable at these meetings. In Atlanta this is one of the few AA clubs with their own facility having multiple meetings daily. Although I question it being located on a diagonal from a huge liquor store it is a beacon in our community giving help to those battling addiction.
