Food was good as always (prefer the presentation of food at the Perimeter location a lot better, but that’s besides the point). However, if I’m paying $45 a person for Thai food, I expect decent customer service. We were the only guests in the entire restaurant for lunch on a rainy Monday. This review is specifically for our server (C—don’t want to blast him. But I definitely know his name since I had to call him over multiple times to ask him for basic amenities). We made a reservation for 6 plus a baby (high chair), a total of seven people; this was confirmed when we checked in with the host; but table only had 6 and we had to wait for the server to bring us another chair while holding a baby. He was DREADFULLY slow. Again, ONLY customers at this time. It took him forever to bring water and take our order. Again, ONLY customers in the entire restaurant. We order 5 entries, Tom yum, and Papaya Salad, and two drinks. He repeated our order correctly (did not right it down) yet still managed to get it wrong. Our pad thai did not have shrimp and the pad see ew did not have tofu because the order was switched. That’s fine whatever, we didn’t want to wait for them to remake the entries because our kids were getting restless. Fine. But then, he only came to check on us ONE time on his own, and the FOUR other times we had to literally call him over to order a soft drink, napkins, and water refills. He never brought out the Thai Tea, so by the time we reminded him, of course, we had to wait until our meal was completely finished before we got the drink. So slow!!! He has no sense of urgency and he was just a slow server. Then, it took another 8 minutes for our check to be returned which included 20% tip because we had a large party. Again, we were the only customers in the entire restaurant. I didn’t complain to the manager because that would have taken another 20 minutes. Definitely will not be returning to this location unless I have to…I really don’t want to deal with the...

Read moreWe live in Midtown just south of this location and have been here for some time. Our main Thai restaurant was Tamarind Seed for a very long time, but they tragically closed!
We've been on the hunt for a new Thai restaurant. Of course, there are unlimited options in the area, but something brought us to 26 Thai tonight, and I'm SO GLAD we did.
Our server was Gabby. She was an absolute delight. Incredibly thoughtful, sweet, attentive, and she had excellent, tailored recommendations after we outlined our general interests, etc.
We had Spring Rolls (fried). They were impeccable. Perfect texture, crispness, and a delightful wrapper. For our meal, we ordered the Pineapple Boat and the Rama Chicken. We've been to Naan in Midtown and had the Pineapple chicken dish served there which is quite similar in appearance, but my wife was floored at the difference in flavor. She LOVED it. Complex, sweet, textural variety, perfectly salty, umami, and just an all around delight. My Rama Chicken was close to perfect too. The fried chicken was tender and perfectly cooked and it's served on a bed of well cooked potatoes and other vegetables that suspend it out of the Masaman curry to keep it from getting soggy. The flavors were complex and delightful, just what I was hoping for.
Gabby also recommended a lychee martini, which my wife ordered. It was fantastic. Bright, fresh, and just the perfect amount of sweet and alcohol.
Overall, I can say with absolute certainty that we've found our go-to Thai replacement for Tamarind Seed. This was everything we were looking for from food and service packaged up in a well appointed restaurant that was not pretentious and overly full of itself like other fine Thai establishments. The crowd was just our speed, and parking was very easy.
I love it. Strong recommendation, and definitely ask for Gabby...
