I have been going to this salon for years. I have been seeing Jason for color. This time I asked for a caramel highlights . But it turned out more chunky blonde with a greenish tint. I have dark brown eastern indian hair. They don’t like it if you don’t like the color .they become personally offended . You are the customer and tell you it looks good . I went back to get it fixed after spending over $670 . Which included the color and three hair products . Some young Caucasian girl who has probably never worked with eastern Indian hair before put some dark dark brown color / toner in my hair over Jason’s highlights .. I felt like crying after she did what she did. They were mad at me for not liking the color asking me what was wrong with it . This is what you asked for. I asked them how they could fix it and they told me to go home and wash my hair with dawn dish soap , never to come back again, did not even attempt to even fix it , and refunded me half of what I paid a . You are the customer and you have every right to tell then you don’t like the color, they basically kick you out or the salon if you don’t like the color , and get highly personally offended if you don’t like the color z I feel embarrassed by the way my hair looks. This place is over priced , rude, don’t care about you feel about the color or their haircuts. If you have dark brown hair , eastern Indian or Hispanic .. these caucasians do not know what they are doing with this type of dark hair. they told me “this is what you asked for” what is your problem. I can’t even walk around with my hair looking this way and don’t know who to ask for help ? I asked for a caramel color and got dark black .. darker than my own hair .. and they have stripped my hair of my natural healthy shine . They should have to pay to fix my hair . Never in my life been treated so badly and told it was my fault the color looks this way because I asked for it, or I shouldn’t be upset with this color. I reminded them that I am the customer and I have the right to tell them I don’t like the color . They ruined my entire head of hair. It’s feels like coarse wires. . I have been going to this salon for over 6 years… and this is how they treated me. They should be reported to better business bureau for discrimination, assault for the way they ruined my hair, talked to me with disrespect and kicked me out of their salon for disliking liking the color . Caramel does not look like bright blonde green highlights or jet black or dark brown color . You shouldn’t have to go home and wash your hair with “ dawn dish soap.” These are pictures of the big chunky greenish blonde highlights and jet black toner they placed over these green blonde highlights . I am disgusted by this color. I can’t look at myself in the mirror. . I cried after leaving this salon. I never felt like this before . You are the customer and you should be able to tell them you don’t like it without them telling you “ what is wrong with the color” The young blonde girl said this is what you asked for . I hope this place goes out of business . I sent some of my friends here and they have had similar experiences with their color, and rude behavior , and never came back. I stoped even getting my hair cut from here long time ago. Because similar experiences with disliking the hair cuts they give. The overall experience is demeaning , insulting , I feel ashamed to go to work or walk down the street with my hair looking this way . I was not rude . I just told I don’t like the color over and over again and was told this is what you asked for . Never in my life have been told to wash my hair wish dawn dish soap . This is not a professional salon but a place supervised by high school drop outs . They tell you you are disrespectful if you don’t like the color . It’s funny . They do what they want to do . If you want a cut or color from here you better just shut up and like it . I could have done this with a $5 box of color from CVS down the street . “ can you fix it ? I have been...
Read moreLoved the stylists. Usually I have problems with people trying to blonde my dark hair. Their stylists are incredible at drawing out a very healthy and consistent blonde. This review has nothing to do with their stylists. I went here because Vivid did a number on me and their top chair fixed it while preserving most of my hairs length and minimizing breakage. Never in all my hair care years. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Your talent is worth every dollar I spent. They were respectful to my teenager, who is learning to schedule and maintain their own hair.
I feel disrespected by the lack of pricing transparency and inability to connect me to someone with more tenured communication skills. Given the cost, I expect exceptionally effective communication skills.
I do not have cost sensitivity, that was brought up several times. “Well if it’s too much …”, when I repeatedly stated, “it’s not the cost, I don’t know what, when, or why things are being charged.”
I do have cost transparency sensitivity. As an autistic person, I’ve been financially taken advantage by businesses because I expect the best of people, it’s something I live with, it’s stressful. So when I don’t understand pricing, given my vulnerability, I have to break the costs down: After 6 months and a lot of money, I was able to break down how their aggressive sales and pricing works.
Every step of the process has a charge, like an a-la-carte menu. Within each step of the process, there are different techniques that have a charge, and that charge can also change based on the stylist who does it. And I forgot to include that they also charge an hourly for some parts of the process and not others … and sometimes you can pay to accelerate those parts of the process but there’s no fee to just sit there. It’s too much. If you are unaware of this, you could be asked if you want a deep condition, say yes, and it’s an oliplex treatment. The price is highly variable based on these things. At the end of every visit I didn’t understand the cost. Nobody called me back to explain it.
This time, when I spoke to them over three weeks for my hair, the cost jumped from $200, to $250, to $376 after switching to a cheaper stylist. I was sold a service “this stylist must use”, then had that restricted because “it can’t be used on roots.” Then repeatedly offered a service in the process I declined until I broke down crying.
I spoke respectfully, I tipped well, and bought product. Even when I got over-stimulated on the phone, I mostly wept about how frustrating it is when someone isn’t communicating with me, rather, at me.
If you aren’t aware, salons have flat rates and a la carte models. If you burn money without pricing transparency, this place is for you. Otherwise, I should have left the salon studio, it isn’t worth crying over. They don’t understand why you need...
Read morePositives: The protegès are awesome and so are the ladies working at the front desk!! Very nice and polite. Blow dry is always perfect.
Negatives: went to get from dark blonde to platinum, asked to have white hair but got out with yellow hair after more than 600$. I also did not appreciate the assertive “I want you to buy these products from us”. While I know it is for my hair health, it is way too pushy and I felt forced to buy them. Changed hair colorist at the same salon and he was a bit better but never found the right color and was almost always late. Last time was worse than ever, there is a significant visible disconnect between roots and toner and I honestly hate it. Also, please stop pushing your other businesses on clients. I am always down for a light chat about your life, but unless clients specifically ask, please don’t force them to follow you on Instagram or make them feel uncomfortable about having to attend your other business’ events. I was very uncomfortable and did not want to be rude by saying that I am not interested but I also never asked. Also, last time he was half an hour late but I payed the usual
