LOCATION: It is in the basement of the mason building right next the Downtown YMCA and across the street from the Library. The sliver of a driveway (parling lot holds approx 5 cars so skip it) leads to a (non visible from the street) door on the left once the wall of the building ends. It is a good idea to park in the YMCA or Library parking lots and walk over since it is free after 6pm.
+4 STARS - EVERYONE (minus one awful male) is absolutely wonderful to be around and to each other. Their productions are top notch. Our family is filled with theatreheads. We frequent Prov, Boston and NY to keep the habit. I have personally seen 2 here at ACT and both felt like a steal for 20 a ticket, an absolute win because I am also a miser.
-1 STAR - It is a real shame more people are do not know about their productions. I feel like the PR is severely lacking on their part. I talk about this place all the time because my daughter is in plays here but hardly anyone knows it exists. Also, 8pm is TOO late. Even 7 is better for a 2 hr production when considering babysitters and bedtimes for adult and nonadult plays, respectively. Lastly, the reservation requirement is annoying. Via phone, the 24 hr notice, and the online payment process are annoying. Have the financier install a payment card on their phone to make the process more efficient, maybe?
Overall, a gem and everyone should cycle in a family or date night every 3 months to see the...
