The store is a complete disaster. Aisles are cluttered up and several are blocked by racks of merchandise that still need to be put out on the sales floor. I came in 45 min til closing time on a Sunday, and the fitting room was already closed. At 20 til, an employee used the store intercom to announce that the store would be closing in 17 minutes, and requested that customers make their final selections. I have no issue with this sort of tactic, I've worked retail, i get it. But when another employee gets on the intercom less than 3 minutes later and announces that anyone who has not secured a place in the checkout line in the next 2 minutes will not be allowed to purchase their items, I found that to be extremely unprofessional and tasteless. What really drove home my decision to leave a review was when the security guard (why there's even a security guard at the Goodwill to begin with is comical at best) stood near the feony doors and actually started shouting at customers that we all needed to hurry the hell up and get on our way, because the store would be closing soon. The employees here are insanely RUDE, and have ZERO clue how to perform the most basic aspects of customer service. The behavior of these clowns was enough to make me step out of the checkout line, hang my items back up on the nearest rack, and walk out without giving them one damn cent of my money. Way to lose out on a $75 sale because staff doesn't understand the importance of treating their customers...
Read moreI was at this store a couple days ago with a friend when I went to checkout the cashier asked if the girl before me was my friend. I said yes why?? She preceded to tell me how angry and unhappy she must be in life. I was like excuse me. I said she’s actually an amazing person. We are talking about one of the literal nicest people in the world. I realized that I had left my cash in my purse in the car so I ran out to get it. When I came back in she was waiting on a customer so I patiently waited for her to get done when another customer came in line behind me she stated that I was going to wait to pay until after the next person. I told her to keep the items and that she’s very unprofessional to talk about customers like that with other customers. I do secret shops for Goodwill all the time and if I would’ve been secret shop in Goodwill, that wouldn’t have been a good thing. She was a little bit of an older lady, that’s why I was actually so surprised, I would have expected it more from a younger person maybe. I assure you I will not go back there. Oh and there is only about 2 or 3 shopping carts and one of them is empty at the front of the store with a sign on it saying for store use only. I carried my heavy drapes that I really wanted to buy around the store forever to not end up even...
Read moreIt must be since the remodel that things really got bad. I used to love shopping here and could always find good clothes or other random things or even furniture. Now it's very frustrating to look for anything. The clothes aren't in any order except for type of clothing, no size order. The aisles are so full sometimes with stuff both on the shelf teetering and on the floor of the aisle blocking passage with your shopping cart. The furniture is so smashed in that you have to leave your cart somewhere to go down the 'aisles' to see the furniture. You can no longer look through paintings/pictures because they are so stacked and jammed into the shelf that moving one picture to look means a possible avalanche of heavy various sized paintings.
Pricing is ridiculous lately as well. It's a charity, right? I always round up for training and donate all the time and I feel like Goodwill has become greedy.
All the staff that I've met are wonderful and helpful as they can be (they get the 2 stars; the store sure doesn't) but it seems new management has not been organizing the store well. I love thrift stores and it's been wonderful living near this Goodwill but I might avoid this store completely in the future and head up to Kent's...
