I lived on West Illinois avenue in around the early 2000s. With the exception of the WalMart, it was decent. Now there is all of this abandonment. There doesn't seem to be any attempt to revive this area except putting in a bunch of nuisance businesses in such as a vape shop and a currency exchange.
