Last month we visited Denver Distillery. It was our second or third time. We absolutely love their house made gin. They also make an incredible coffee liqueur, from coffee extracts of the local Kaladi Coffee roasters.
Located near the intersection of Broadway and Alameda, it is right across the street from Lil' Devils.
Their bartenders are amazing! The menu has some very interesting house specialties, but they are also willing to craft any custom desire.
We happened to luck-out, and got there in time to join a free tour of the distillery, which is mostly in the basement. Tours are available almost every day, but must be pretty early in the evening, before 6pm. Our guide was one of the master distillers, who had a very impressive beard.
The history of the building, the process involved to open a distillery in Denver, and learning about the actual distilling process was very informative and free... and of course you get to enjoy the tour with a cocktail in hand! Definitely a tour for all five senses.
This would be a great way to start an evening out on the town, especially impressing out of...
Read moreBooked a third party event that was supposed to go through this establishment and offer drinks, stories of the haunted history, etc. Neither of those things happened however because they double booked us over a private party that would not let us enter (not even to use the restroom). When we did attempt to enter the staff were extremely rude and told us to leave so we had to do that part of the tour outside even though they let the first tour group go through 30 minutes prior. Also, not to mention, the people in the private party were extremely rude like it was our fault we bought tickets to an event over a week ago. None of this was told to our tour guide and the booking event also knew nothing about a private party happening. They probably just thought they would make more money from the other group so they turned us away. Denver Distillery lost out on money from an entire group and lost our respect. We will not be back and we will think twice before we book events in the future that involve this...
Read moreI cannot begin to describe just how amazing our experience with Chris, the staff, and the distillery was when we hosted our wedding reception here. It was a wedding that was planned in 2 months; and as hectic of an undertaking as it was to achieve, it could not have happened without this venue going far above and beyond our expectations to fulfill our every need. Seriously, blown away. From signature cocktails to distillery tours for our guests to allowing us time the day before to unload our mountain of decorations to the fabulous bartenders and inviting atmosphere, Chris let us do what we needed to do to have this event and did it with smiles and accommodations that would've cost us a fortune had we booked any other place. We had 50 guests and did not feel cramped once. This venue always felt intimate but was surprisingly spacious. If you are looking for your venue, this is it. You have found it. If my wife and I were to get married again we would love to book here...
