I discovered Fern and Skye during the Viva Streets event, when the city shut Broadway down for pedestrians and cyclists. While I didn't buy anything during my first visit, I was impressed by the amazing array of beautiful products from local artists. Then during First Friday in the Santa Fe Arts District last month, I discovered Sarah Starling's encaustic landscapes. She posted a video of some she delivered to Fern and Skye, and there was one in particular I wanted. I messaged Fern and Skye through Instagram asking if I could pick it up last weekend, and Lauren responded and said she would be happy to set it aside for me. I went in and got it, and the employee (whose name was Gina I believe), was just as polite as the owner, Lauren, was. This is the kind of place I look forward to going back to just to browse, and also to get gifts for friends and family.
