I scheduled a bday party for my kid a month ahead and despite the place’s policy of prohibiting entering foods from outside, I literally asked the manager I spoke with, Olivia, if I can bring my own food (pizza and cake) because I have religion guests who eat only kosher. Olivia said yes and that is fine due to religion reasons and she’s willing to make an exception. I didn’t make any online reservations on the order page for pizza or other food, besides the ice cream they offer in the package (which btw wasn’t served to us at all!) If Olivia would say no, it is absolutely prohibited, I would have said politely thank you, that’s ok, I understand and will look for a different location. But she didn’t!.... On the day of the party, when I came to the location, we had already guests waiting there who came before us (We were late because We had to wait for our 5 boxes of kosher pizza to be ready, pick up the kosher cake, drive to the party location in a horrible snowy weather just to be almost kicked out with our food. It wasn’t the first time I had reserved a location to celebrate party for my kids that had the policy of not allowing food from outside but never had an issue after talking with the manager who agreed to make an exception and once I brought our pizza and cake, I always could bring along some small sides (salad or chips). The lady who attended us totally blocked our way saying this food stays here and we cannot bring it in. I explained to her that all was already agreed and discussed with Olivia, but after having quick phone call with Olivia who even wasn’t willing to speak directly to me, we were told that this is not true and that Olivia couldn’t agree on such a thing but only on one small kosher serving for the bday boy. Seriously??!! I said I have kosher guests, it doesn’t even make sense to bring one small serving.. it felt like they tried to offend our intelligence. We decided to put the salad and the chip away and as agreed just enter only the pizza and cake. But this lady denied and kept us standing ,kept our guests waiting, the kids crying asking for a guest pass and games card which I hesitated to give before deciding whether we are staying or leaving. This lady threatened to call the cops and even brought me to the point that I had to beg her and cry to understand me as a mother but it didn’t help, just until almost 40 min later when she said that they have decided to allow us enter the pizza & the cake with a condition of not having bday there or have our guests do bday bringing along their food as an example to us. Which was ridiculous for 2 reasons: firstly, what makes you think me or someone from our guests will come back to celebrate in this place again?! And secondly, what was the problem to begin in this manner in first place? Something like: “Yes, we’ll allow but only this time. Next time that won’t be allowed nor to your family neither to your guests’?! Why would you make us so sad and upset because your manager is lacking of communication skills ??... The only reason I’m giving 2 and not 1 star is because the kids had fun eventually and we were lucky to have an amazing girl who attended us and was the most kind and nice among their employees. I had huge expectations and even thou we were allowed eventually to enter, I had bad taste all night long and felt really bad my guests had to witness that. Are we gonna come back to skate? Unlikely.. Are we gonna come back to celebrate or recommend this place for a bday parties?...
Read moreThis place brings back so many memories when I was a kid. So glad they haven't changed the decor. It's like time stood still in the early 60's! It's perfect for the little ones (I can't speak for adults since I act like a child and adults generally are jerks and way too critical) and that's why I'm speaking for all children. They love it here. Every child has a huge smile on their face. The only reason a child is crying is because they have either fallen down and received a boo boo, or they have to go home! Prices are as cheap as they were back then. They could charge $20.00 per hour and it would still be worth it. I can't imagine what their utility bill is every month; at least $4000.00 and yet the prices are still low. The reason why I couldn't give them 5 stars, is because I still hate places that charge non-nonrefundable deposits for birthday parties, and they only give you one or two hours and then you have to leave. I don't see any difference between a birthday or public skating. If there are 300 kids on the floor, what's the difference if they're with a birthday or their having fun with friends? So time limits are a nuisance and just don't make any sense. There is plenty of room for "skaters!" Most parties probably leave after an hour or two anyway. But our kids like to stay for another hour or two after the party usually leaves! This place is also locally owned so always patronize these companies. And by the way - reviewers: stop complaining about teenagers. Yes -they aren't always smiling. This place is LOUD! It s great thing that at least teenagers like working there, because no adult would ever do it; even if they came from another country. Stop complaining; start looking for positive things in a business, because there are thousands of positive things a local business does for our community. Be thankful and stop complaining. Did I mention to STOP...
Read moreI took my family to Skate City thinking we would have a great time I ended up paying for 4 kids and 3 adults came to a total of $68 we arrived at 3:00 p.m. April 14th just to celebrate my birthday when we started to pay he asked for how many children and how many adults I let him know how many I did the scan to pay and he gave us wristbands which happened to be red we went to skates an hour in they called our color I was confused because I seen online that it said you would get 2 hours for admission when I went to talk with him I let them know I was confused they told me that they informed me if you come an hour into the session you only get to go for one hour I informed him that that was not told to me and I did not know of this instead of explaining it and maybe trying to rectify the situation they made it seem like it was not a big deal and then explain to me that there is signs inside the building that explains this I explained to him that we were not inside the building we were outside of the building so I would not have known then I asked for another manager the other manager said there was nothing he could do about it and it would ONLY be $2.50 extra PER PERSON my point is it's not about the money it's the fact that morals we're not had and they were not honest if I were you I'd stay away I would not go to The Establishment for a birthday party or anything else because if it's only $2.50 then they can do that with you at any time in any situation Managers names are (Caleb...
