Everyone should know that Buffy did not always reside at the fairgrounds. Originally she stood atop the Ankeny Dairy Foods building. Before there was Kwik Trip there were Ankeny Mini Marts in every neighborhood in Austin. They provided access to staple foods for many that did not have access to convenient transportation and those that enjoyed just stopping in for a quick gallon of milk or loaf of bread. Her placement on the roof of the Ankeny Dairy Foods building made her an everyday sight to all of the Ellis Junior High School students as they were transported to and from school each day.
