It is a great trail for bicycling. With 10.5 miles of paved concrete, the lanes are wide enough for comfortable navigation. There are sections for all levels of riders.
This time of year maintenance regularly trims overgrowth as the grasses, trees and other plants are actively growing. You may have to swing wide or duck to avoid them until they are trimmed.
Some places have mud built up from rains, and would be nice if these areas were scraped.
There is one place about 2 ft square where a fire hydrant eroded the path, but its easy to avoid. It is near the trailer park.
There are two roads to cross if you go the distance, but they are easy enough to get across as traffic is not constant.
The Govalle Park access is under major renovations so you park in a nearby field up the street and cross a...
Read moret's a great trail. It starts from the YMCA and I took the trail to the right. Easy trail for the beginner. Hills and dirt very little except the hill you go down from the beginning and you have to come back up. The trail is relative easy. Scenic maybe?? Lots of mosquitoes?? For Sure !!! I recommend bug spray before the ride. There is bike station before the ride for air in your tire and wrench for minor tighten up. The round trip should not take more then a hour, it took me a bit over a hour and I am out of shape. Oh last thing make sure you get hydrated and carry water bottle with you. There is no restroom in the middle of trail, so make sure you planned for that.
Overall a great trail to ride and spend a bit time with the mother nature, and get fit at the same time. One of my fav...
Read moreA great hike and bike trail. We’ve ridden it several times but not yet all the way to Decker Lake. It’s mostly paved and well-maintained. It’s also mostly tree-lined which makes for a wonderful riding experience that feels like you are out in the country. The trailhead in Govalle Park is a small but nice park that is fairly easy to access. We are able to ride our bikes to the park, but if you need to drive, there is usually ample parking - however it does get busy on weekends. There are bathrooms on site but they are CLOSED now, I assume due to covid, but there are porta potty’s available. They need to reopen the bathrooms as porta potty’s are certainly not safer than a real...
