Playground at The Grove — Attraction in Austin

The architect that designed this park gets high marks. We had two small children and they loved it. However, beware of the parking. What a racket. There are absolutely no signs on the street in front of the park. If you are not looking for a sign as you drive into the park which I absolutely have never experienced anywhere else on what looks like a normal street. There is only one tiny sign on a fence at the park and you don’t even Walk by that if you park before it. We were towed after only being there for a few minutes. There is not one single sign on the wide street. What made us even more leary was that when we came out to look for the car there was what appeared to be a park worker in his work clothes. We went up to him and said does he know what happened to our car. He immediately said it had been towed and if you want to get it you have to go to blank blank blank towing yard which was 30 minutes away. Could he have called the tow truck? Why could he have not walked 20 feet over where we were standing and told us our car was getting towed-out of common courtesy? There were no more than 10 people in the entire park and two other cars on an empty street. A complete lack of courtesy if not worse. I advise you to stay shy of this park until they...

Very pretty park with some unique play stuff, but TERRIBLE for little kids. Not designed for safety at all. Rocks everywhere and you can't tell that they're cliffs or rocky uneven stairs until you're right next to them. That means little kids or impulsive kids are constantly at risk of literally running off the edge of the playground. At least they added a fence between the playground and the street. Also, directly down the hill from the playground is a pond with no fencing around it so you have to watch your kids closely if they are explorer-types like mine. Pretty looking neighborhood park that prioritized aesthetics over functionality. The play area is super dangerous with elevations and multiple areas to fall and really get hurt. There are huge stone rocks all around a tall slide deeming it unsafe for the little ones. Could have included swings, sandbox, and other things in this vast space to make it a...
