All of our other trips to Terra Toys have been 5 star experiences. This last visit was a 1 star experience. As we were checking out, the cashier made an odd comment after looking suspiciously at the kite we purchased and said, âIf it rips or anything, you canât return it here. You can contact the manufacturer though.â He wasnât rude but it was the tone he used. As if he knew these kites are trash and that they have dealt with people trying to return them in the past because of how poor the quality is. Iâve never had anyone say something like that to me when purchasing something. It really sounded like he expected something to go wrong. I mean, if youâre selling products at your business you should be selling products that you stand by. Unfortunately, the kite did let us down and it is a piece of garbage. We got it yesterday and itâs already in the trashcan. It wouldnât fly and immediately out of the package pieces were breaking off. Yikes. Definitely not worth $15. Our 2 year old son had a stressful day yesterday after an injury and we thought this would cheer him up. Unfortunately, he was crying and frustrated when we couldnât get the kite to fly. Word of advice to Terra Toys, please pull these kites from your shelves. They are clearly cheaply made and arenât worth $1 let alone $15. And yes $15 isnât much when you actually get use out of the item, when you donât get to use it though, it is a waste of money and really frustrates us. One positive is that the space themed kickball we got our son (along with the kite) is awesome and he loves that! Also the customer service here is friendly...
Read moreThis shop is definitely fun to poke inside. I really love the store layout, and the coffee shop in that is connected to it. Everyone there was welcoming and energized (good to be around kids.) I bought my girlfriend an adorable loris puppet years ago, and it is one of our favorites to date. That should suggest that at least one of their toys stands the test of time. The only thing that I would like to see change is that many of the toys are too expensive, and in a competitive world with Amazon it is tough to justify buying stuff from here. Still, there is something exciting about being in an environment surrounded by happy colors and toys that you couldn't get from any online transaction.
Edit: I fully understand that your reasoning and anger, and I know that you are running in a tough industry. I also understand Amazon's corruption. I want you to know that I am sorry you have to deal with such an ordeal. While I was aware that some of your toys were solid essentially with little markup from the initial cost I was not aware to the extent.
To anyone who reads the owners response and feels a little bit put-off, don't, we need to be more blunt politics in the world today, and I would recommend voting for a living wage so that companies like Amazon need to be more competitive with stores like this. It will also fuel the velocity of money which will produce more purchases at stores like this.
Hang tight, Havoc...
Read moreI went here looking for what kinds of stuff they sell cause me and sister were curious, as I walked in there was a sign that said no backpacks over the counter I didn't really understand like was that for employees? Mind you i carry a backpack aposed to a purse because i have back pain and my chiropractor advised me to use backpacks. Anyhow me and sister continued to walk around the store and an employee apparently training another employee was saying they just installed hundreds of cameras, at first I was like well he's telling the new guy so he knows but then he kept following us we went to one side of the store where they had little house decoration and mini kitchens behind plastic glass, he emphasized how they had cameras in the corners of the store and for the new guy to watch out in the little corners people usually go to hide and then he continued to say things of that sort, once he had said that I felt personally victimized as if I was a criminal, I have never stolen anything I have no theft record, I felt so uncomfortable I just decided to leave and just never come back, I shall be going to other stores where I don't feel harrased by employees and can calmly shop. Like i understand that this is a toy shop and im wearing a backpack, but don't assume that I will steal, that's wrong and making customers especially Hispanic customers, I shall emphasise, feel like criminals is just sad. Terra Toys very...
