This church ,co-founded by my grandfather David Gleason Benjamin, has a deep place in a 4th generation Austinite's heart as a place we would sneak out to at night and wait for our friends before cellular phones... years after that for moments of solitude and most recently to celebrate my birthday every year since I have been 50 I try and watch the sunrise there as I am born on December 21st the longest day of the year and the usual glorious sunset through the crosses on the doors Glorious ā˜€ļø

I’m rating the tiny chapel only. The perfect place to reflect and pray. However, it’s best to avoid between June-September, as there’s no A/C.

I've been to Good Shepherd a number of times, and it's always been great. Very warm and accepting people. It's not my local church, so I don't have a lot of experience with it.

I went to a funeral this week that was really lovely. The Episcopal church has a fairly standard order of service and liturgy, but there is enough leeway for it to be personal yet familiar and keeps a sense of perspective. Each life can touch and affect so many other lives in wonderful ways, but in the end we're all part of the same family and tiny parts of of a much bigger, and far older tapestry, but we're every bit as important and the same as all the other threads that have come before and will come...

Cold & uncaring. The priests are simply too busy to slow down and help parishioners . I’ve been a member since this church held survices at the shopping center. Why no more bells on New Years, etc.? The neighbor hood would...
