I went to The Ring back in February to purchase a men's wedding band. I'd thought about buying something online, but I didn't know exactly what I was looking for and I wanted a professional to size me. I also wanted to support a local business.
I chose a tungsten ring and after sizing me they encouraged me to go with a size 8.5. A few days later it arrived and I went to pick it up. It felt loose to me, but they assured me that this was okay since my finger would swell in the summer. A couple days later I was showing it to my fiancee and realized that when I shook my hand, it flew off my finger. I took it back in and they resized me and said they would work with the manufacturer to get it replaced with a size 8.
A few days after that I went to pick up the size 8, but when I tried the hand shake there the ring again fell off my finger. It was getting close to the wedding date, so they told me to go ahead and use it for the ceremony and then come back in afterwards and we'd get it taken care of.
I went in last week to get resized again and it appears that my proper size is probably a 7.25. Unfortunately that ring only comes in half-sizes.
Since any alternative metal is considered a special order, it's not eligible for any refund or trade-in, even though it's not customized at all. To be honest, I don't remember if they told me that when I placed the original order, but it does say that on my receipt.
I asked them about possibly giving me some credit towards a traditional gold ring that comes in quarter sizes and can be resized. Not the full amount or anything, but just a little bit to show me that they cared. They said they had to check with the owner.
The next day they called me and told me they couldn't do anything for me. My only option is to pay $75 to have the manufacturer replace the ring with a new one that will probably be too big or too small.
So I've been to The Ring five times and all I have to show for it is a $300 ring that doesn't fit. At this point I would recommend that people just buy something online. If you do go to The Ring, avoid alternative metals unless you're absolutely sure of your...
Read moreThere are a lot of ring stores in Austin—different styles, settings, diamond sizes, and price ranges. We went to countless stores viewing our options. We thought we had already found “the one” at a different store, but after continuing to explore, we ended up at The Ring Austin. Ironically another well known ring store recommended The Ring to us when they didn’t have diamonds for us to view that matched our vision. Even though another store offered a similar ring at a lower price, we ultimately chose The Ring because of the exceptional service we received from Jack at the Anderson location.
From the moment we walked in, Jack took the time to guide us through our options—even though we already had a good idea of what we were looking for. He added insights about the process and educated us on things we hadn’t even considered. His attention to detail and genuine care made a big impact. He was very knowledgeable, genuine, and cared about guiding us to the right decision more than pushing a sell to buy anything.
What really sealed the deal was that after reviewing all our options, The Ring ended up offering the best price too. We got a larger diamond than we expected for less than what we were about to spend on smaller stones elsewhere. They also had the best after purchase care and insurance programs from what we experienced elsewhere. Jack worked within our budget and still helped us find something beautiful that matched our vision. We were beyond impressed that he was able to pull that off, even helped us get a custom setting that they did not have, matching our vision.
He stayed in touch throughout the entire process—giving updates, checking in on our thoughts, and making sure every detail was right. We left not only feeling confident about the purchase but genuinely happy about the experience.
Thanks to Jack and the team, we look forward to future purchases...
Read moreEdit to our review: I am a bartender, so my ring goes through quite a bit. At one point, I actually had a keg dropped on my hand. In the process, a stone was knocked out of my ring. I did not even notice until long after the fact, and I was so upset! Our wedding was only two weeks out, so I had to get it repaired. I took it back up to the shop to have it fixed. They not only replaced the missing stone, but they also tightened all of the others into place, reshaped the band, and cleaned/polished the whole ring! The best part is that it was completely FREE since I purchased the ring from them! When I went to pick the piece up, the girls who sold it to me not only recognized me, but remembered our upcoming wedding date, our venue that we had talked about, and even asked about our baby that they had met when we purchased the ring! You only get this kind of service from a top-notch local place. Please go give them your business!
We just bought my new engagement ring from this place and it is absolutely perfect! The young ladies who helped us were incredibly patient as we went through all of our options. While their diamond selection is stunning, it didn’t stop there. We went in looking for a non-traditional gemstone and, their selection did not disappoint! Plus the setting options were on point. They were EXTREMELY knowledgeable and helped guide us towards exactly what we wanted. Best of all, we never felt pressured into making a purchase. They even helped us with financing my new ring to fit our budget. I would give them ten stars if I could! Thank you so much Maria...
