UPDATE: Toni, the store manager, reached out to me and offered the services of Veronica, the salon manager, to fix my hair. When I got there, she was unavailable, but Jasmine was. I was still a bit worried, but after Jasmine was able to see the issues, and started to fix it, I calmed down (also didn't hurt that I saw her check out her client before me who's hair was gorgeous). I heard that my original email was shared (which was fine), but I was worried that Jasmine wouldn't fix my hair to the best of her ability because of the things that I wrote.
Boy was a wrong! Jasmine did an amazing job! She took my concerns seriously and when I voiced up at the end about one side being slightly uneven, she didn't hesitate to fix it. I am truly happy with the results that she did and I made sure to schedule a follow up appointment. I heard that she was offered full time position at the salon, and I would encourage you to make sure that she is a member of your team for a long time. She is awesome!
I would also like to commend Veronica. She came and chatted with me to make sure that my concerns were addressed. She spoke highly of her team and I could tell that she wanted every single client to have a great experience.
Original: I was searching for a potential new stylist and got a coupon for 15% off my first salon service at Ulta. So I set up an appointment online. When I got there, the staff couldn't find my appointment and straight up told me that their online appointment system doesn't work. The person who I chose online already went home for the day. I decided to go with the next available person, Shay. I had long hair that needed some much needed TLC and before the wash, confirmed that the stylist would only cut one inch off. After the rough hair wash, she started to cut. And cut and cut and cut. Four inches of hair on the floor later, I left. I wanted to cry. I went home and straightened my hair to only discover the full damage that happened. She butchered my hair and didn't blend in any of the layers. There are hard, blunt layers throughout my hair. I will NEVER go back to this Ulta or any other Ulta salon after my experience. In addition to the bad haircut, the staff was unprofessional (sucking in helium from a balloon), the salon was cramped, and the coupon for 15% off was ignored...
Read moreIsabel is the rudest most incompetent stylist I have experienced in over 20 years. I needed a root touch up, quick, easy. Due to my own lack of planning, I ended up in a bind and needed it done ASAP. She kept stating she needed my stylist formulas and products. I said can't you mix something up to make it work. Its just roots. I couldn't understand her level of incompetence from the get go and I should have followed my gut and left. I told her, look i just need this covered and I don't want it to look like I did it at home. Well guess what, it does and let me go on about her ' service'. She was hostile, unfriendly, &irresponsible. After she applied a minuscule amount of color, which by the way is several shades too light. She cautioned it might be a little darker, and I was ok with that because I have reddish hair. My roots are now blondish red. This is because she disappeared it did not follow up on the processing once. A real stylist, comes and checks on you and looks at the color. She said the first part needed 10 minutes, after 15 minutes I sent someone to get her. She did not apologize and it sat too long. The second portion was to sit for 30 minutes. At 30 minutes I sent someone to get her. I never saw her again. They couldn't find her and said they would page her. I asked for a manager. A nice woman named Cheryl rinsed me, blow dry etc. Cheryl was sweet and I gave her a $20 tip. The manager didn't even return to check on me and I paid 85$ for Isabel's horrific display of apathy. If you care about your hair or have any expectations about a stylist caring about her job do not see Isabel at Ulta. The other stylists felt bad for me and apologized profusely, more so than the manager. They promised that they cared about their clients and were seemingly horrified by what I had endured. And I believed them. I almost didn't write this because of the other women, but unsure if the manager took me seriously I feel others must be warned to never ask Isabel for anything, especially...
Read moreThis store needs to retrain and evaluate their employees. Somehow, despite how frequently I shop there, I’ve NEVER redeemed rewards and my account never has rewards. When I inquired last time I was there because after all this time and shopping 3 times there in the last month there had to be points and no one had ever asked me if I wanted to use them before. Was kindly informed my account had 0 points and only showed 1 of 3 transactions I’d made this month. Went in to get color matched and buy some foundation/concealer for a big event (which ended up being the night I got engaged) explained exactly my skin type and what I needed. Bought some products, got home and my skin was completely the wrong color. Immediately went back, was given the same same brand, different products, different colors. None of the employees seemed to know for sure if this was the correct color but I went with it and exchanged my products. Cashier informed me my balance due... curious because the new products were less expensive to which I had to explain multiple times that that was what was owed to me not what I needed to pay. Take my products home, start to get ready today and what do you know all the products are the wrong color, don’t even match each other and clearly are not right type of products for my skin type. It’s great that they have such bright white lights so you can’t tell what color things will actually be in light in a normal environment. To make matters worse, whatever is in these products dyed my white nail polish, definitely makes me feel good about putting it on my face. Last and final straw for me, I got an email that morning that offered a huge free gift if I shopped online and when I inquired if the store was doing anything. Nope. Nada. SOL. My poor skin. Guess the drive to Sephora is worth it...
