In my personal experience, waxing has been painful, impersonal, overpriced, questionably sanitary, and unusually irritating to my sensitive Irish skin type.
...Until my experience with Kayla...
One night, at Georgieâs, I received a crash course in waxing and an explanation for the plausible causes for why my historical experiences had been problematic. Naturally, I booked an appointment at waKs to have my yeti-like brows & nose tamed post-quarantine, via wax. Painless, literally perfect shaping, and virtually zero unusual redness, irritation, or adverse effects to my skin. (For reference, normal touch to my face causes a momentary redness) . I believe that in itself is a waxing anomaly? The light pink area diminished to normal skin tone by the time I was finished looking at the results in the mirror Kayla help up to me. Iâve been raving about it ever since and making sure that my people know where to go for the best waxing experience ever. Admittedly, Iâve been pushing people toward waKs since opening, but now I know first hand what everyoneâs been talking about after their first appointments. Make the switch to Waks By Kayla. Bring your mask and your miagnifying glass if youâre skeptical to see for yourself, that thereâs nothing to see aside from everything youâd hope to find in pristine condition.
Thank you Kayla for making me look and feel clean and handsome. Thereâs nothing sexier than...

Read moreI used to get Brazilians at EWC, but felt like appointments were rushed, leading to subpar, inconsistent results (missed spots, irritated skin, etc.). Once the pandemic hit, I did something batsh*t and bought an at-home wax kit. Girl, you do not know your pain tolerance or determination until you've given yourself a Brazilian...
I am so glad I decided to book an appointment at waKs. Kayla, who is the owner, is genuinely welcoming and super down to earth. The studio itself is impeccably clean and cozy; an overall relaxing space. Having someone all up in your business for the first time can be awkward and uncomfortable, but Kayla really put me at ease. I don't think I've ever laughed so much (or ever) while getting waxed, it was like I was catching up with a friend. The wax blend Kayla uses is amazing! My Brazilian was painless and I had zero redness/irritation afterwards. I couldn't have been happier with the results. Kayla also gave me a complimentary sample of Fur Oil, and even texted me later that day, thanking me for coming in and encouraging me to reach out if I had any questions. Talk about amazing customer service! I can't wait for my next appointment, and I couldn't recommend this woman-owned small...
