One night, at Georgie’s, I received a crash course in waxing and an explanation for the plausible causes for why my historical experiences had been problematic. Naturally, I booked an appointment at waKs to have my yeti-like brows & nose tamed post-quarantine, via wax. Painless, literally perfect shaping, and virtually zero unusual redness, irritation, or adverse effects to my skin. (For reference, normal touch to my face causes a momentary redness) . I believe that in itself is a waxing anomaly? The light pink area diminished to normal skin tone by the time I was finished looking at the results in the mirror Kayla help up to me. Upon stepping foot into waKs it immediately felt like home. But not just a home where you can lay down & relax a home where you’re comfortable, wanted, missed & given all the tools you need to fight the world outside everyday with grace confidence & love! With moving to a new area changing up your waxer is difficult… after all we are in such an intimate & vulnerable position these ladies during services. At waks I feel like I’ve known these ladies my whole life from Sweet T Danie B Ali & Kayla who brings them all together; hand selects the perfect staff to brighten your day, your mood, your energy, every detail in your life & on your body. I am undergoing chemotherapy & radiation & Kayla’s very own beautiful vegan wax is so luxurious & forgiving on my skin. These ladies have an impeccable attention to detail & never leave a single hair where I don’t want one. Because my skin is so sensitive I can’t stand shaving, I go in regularly (every 3-4weeks) for an Upper Leg, Brazilian & Under Arm. I do treat myself once every couple months to a Vajacial which I absolutely love & helps my skin during the changing seasons & of course with the growth change in my hair. I love going to waks it’s got an amazing atmosphere talented staff awesome products & a sweet rewards system. I never want to move again & I never want to change my waxer all of these ladies...

I used to get Brazilians at EWC, but felt like appointments were rushed, leading to subpar, inconsistent results (missed spots, irritated skin, etc.). I am so glad I decided to book an appointment at waKs. Kayla, who is the owner, is genuinely welcoming and super down to earth. The studio itself is impeccably clean and cozy; an overall relaxing space. Having someone all up in your business for the first time can be awkward and uncomfortable, but Kayla really put me at ease. I don't think I've ever laughed so much (or ever) while getting waxed, it was like I was catching up with a friend. The wax blend Kayla uses is amazing! My Brazilian was painless and I had zero redness/irritation afterwards. I couldn't have been happier with the results. Kayla also gave me a complimentary sample of Fur Oil, and even texted me later that day, thanking me for coming in and encouraging me to reach out if I had any questions.
