Rosanna M. Valdez is a very rude and unprofessional manager... I bought a used XBOX One and took it home, and my girlfriend saw that the unit had been tampered with (seal cut and screwdriver marks). I took it back to West Valley Pawn & Gold, and always had great customer service. This time I was met by Rosanna Valdez (Manager) who said no employee at the store ever accepts gaming consoles with a broken seal, but would give me a refund “this one time”. What a way to say it was my fault, but they are going to help me. I asked why they did not disclose the broken seal, and asked for information showing when the unit came into their store. It came in May 2017, sold to me Sept 2017 for $146. Other units they have for sale are $224 to $272. I asked for information on a current unit in stock, to see what the actual price difference was. I feel they knew about the broken seal, discounted the price to get it out of their store and it would be some suckers problem (that would be me). They did not have any notes in their system saying my unit was defective, and the manager was obviously upset and didn’t want to give me the customer service I needed. She was less than professional on many occasions, so I asked to speak to her boss (General Manager). She relayed my information to the GM as if I was complaining, but all I want to do is hold them accountable. She gave my phone number to the GM and said he would call me, so I said I will wait here for the call. A few minutes later she said she didn’t know if I was going to wait here all day for the GM to call me, and asked if I wanted some water. Thanks... so here I sit. Well, the GM has enough time to have another discussion with the manager, and she brought me a piece of paper with his email. She said they are not allowing me to sit in the store all day waiting for the GM. I said he took the time to call you and say all that, and he couldn’t call me? She said yes. I asked to see another Xbox One so I could do my own comparison to see if they violated the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act, and she said I am only a customer to get the refund, and hey have the right to refuse service and won’t me letting me get info on another unit. That tells me they knew they made the mistake of getting a tampered Xbox, and tried to sell it off to get rid of it and make some money. That is disgusting... I will never do...

I know most pawnshops when you leave negative comments they lock you out of the system that’s fine I will never return Based on what I have experience today. The other lady that stepped in to help him I highly appreciate you but the person that assisted me around 10:30 AM today not so much. Ultimately the issue was when he was told they do take it because they do he went on eBay and was trying to say none were being sold and he was just clicking you and not use sold completed listings so he can see that the items were in fact being bought. This is by far the best and cleanest shop I have ever been in. Don’t be fooled by outside appearances, the inside is clean, shiny, and very welcoming. It was my first time in a pawn shop for selling and not browsing, so I really didn’t know what to expect, except maybe just having to end up walking out disappointed. But this was not the case, far from it.
As soon as I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, and was assisted with my items by Celia.
Let me just say I really hope you are reading this Celia, because you are the one of the kindest people I have ever met. Having trouble with bills right now, and because I’ve been a wreck I started crying like an idiot. Celia took my hand and talked with me, she talked with me about family, she talked with me about things she has gone through and sympathized with me greatly. Can I tell you just how much that meant? For someone so understanding and kind to help you through the process you are unfamiliar with?
I was given a great value for my items, more than I had hoped for and that was very great to me. It was a simple, quick and easy process to go through, and I have Celia to thank for that. Even with so much she had gone though, she wished and prayed for my family and for good times to be ahead. She is, as far as I am concerned, an angel.
I will recommend this pawn shop to anyone I ever talk to, because it is worth it for the value and the people. A+ business, A+ customer service, and I walked out thankful for a kind face and hand that helped me.
