The theatre space for the APU Theater Department, performances here are always top quality. Recently they have been nationally recognized within the educational theater community by receiving the rights to be the West Coast premiere location for Aaron Sorkin's To Kill A Mockingbird, and to be one of the first 5 universities in the US to perform Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera. Graduates from this program regularly go on to work in the Industry. The space itself is well maintained with 2 spaces, a blackbox and a standard proscenium space that seats about 225. The space is a "found" space, meaning that it wasn't originally built to be a theater (hence the name), but it's become a well designed space for impressive acting, singing and storytelling. Most shows are clean of questionable content, but I'd generally recommend an audience age of 12+ just due to some more mature themes in the shows that would likely not be understood by younger kids.
