I’ve come here about 5 times now…. And I feel comfortable writing a review.
One occasion… I asked for some meat and I didn’t realize it was a $7.40 until I got to checkout!! That’s like another entree a scoop of extra meat. Come on. That’s highway robbery for an extra scoop of meat.
Another time I came here, asked to sub out the chips/carrots for extra rice instead. This was for the kids pita. The worker asked the manager and the manager said No.
Another time, the meat scoop I ended up getting was like 1/2 of a single scoop. Even chipotle, infamous for skimping, will give you a heaping scoop. Really, I think the issue was they were running low on chicken (not my fault) so but they decided to start hardcore skimping so they didn’t run out completely.
Ultimately just frustrating how inflexible this place is and I feel the manager is just trying to meet some sort of short term goal or quota instead of understanding it holistically, seeing the customers as human. Silly. What’s a single scoop of rice instead of carrots or pita chips? Is that going to ruin the inventory KPIs??
These small actions are noticed by customers.
However, I will say the workers are extremely friendly. The food is also pretty good. So I won’t give it too bad of a rating… but there are areas that can be improved. Also… be careful about the pricing on any add ons (extra meat, upgraded meat, etc) because you will be shocked...
Read moreI am posting this after my second experience at this particular location. I have been to the Pasadena location, Rancho Cucamonga, and Chino hills as well. To say I love Cava is an understatement. Access and parking to the restaurant is painless with plenty of spots available. For the most part, the staff are exceptionally friendly and I commend the management team for their leadership. However, Sam is particularly rude and would benefit from additional training. Her colleague reported my order (greens and grains bowl with grilled chicken) to Sam, but I noticed the charge was more expensive than usual. Turns out she charged me for a Harissa Avocado bowl which fetches premium. I asked Sam to check the charge and once I confirmed she charged me incorrectly, I asked for a refund. She made no attempts for an apology, called the manager over who proceeded to recharge my card for the correct amount. I asked Sam to confirm if the manager provided me with a refund before recharging the charge (since the manager did not verbalize anything to me). She replied with, "yeah". I asked for my receipt which she abruptly handed to me, and I was on my way.
Perhaps Sam is having bad day - we all do. Nonetheless, I believe she could use additional training in customer service. I am happy to update this review once the leadership team...
