The shops at Riverwalk are growing and improving everyday. Good solid name brand stores have taken their home at this Shopping Center. There are lots of mainstream eateries to choose from such as Eureka Burger, Panera Bread, PF Changs, BJ Brewery, Starbucks, California Pizza Kitchen, and others. Prime shopping stores located in this mall are Target, DSW shoes, Sprout's, Nordstrom Rack and more. There are also a number of small businesses scattered throughout the center. This outdoor mall has easy access from both the street with street lights, and by walking via the Riverwalk and other sidewalks located in the adjacent housing neighborhoods. This facility is quite large and require some walking to get from one store to the next. You may want to park at one part of the mall, and then move your car to access other areas of the mall. There still seems to be more space available for expansion in this mall as stores and restaurants move in. Driving in this mall space has primarily been designed for beauty and visual design rather than for easy access and safety. Unless you know the Mall well you may find it difficult to navigate by car. The best entrance is between BJ Brewhouse and PF Changs, where are you can park centrally and move about the...
Read moreI love coming here to walk around and shop or eat. It is still being constructed but the shops and restaurants that are here are nice. It has grown since I moved to Bakersfield and stores have came and gone too. The main stores are Target, DSW, TJ Max, Sprout's, and Nordstrom Rack. You can also find stores such as BevMo, Starbucks, Vans, & Active. On top of that there are many restaurants like BJ's, Chipotle, Eureka Burger, Panera, & PF Chang's to name a few. The surrounding area is also a good looking neighborhood with Riverwalk Park touching it to the west and the Kern River Parkway to the north. Mercy Hospital Southwest is also located right across the street at the corner of Stockdale and Old River. The shopping center is quite large and you will probably have to do more than a little walking but with all the diversity in stores who would really mind. One thing to keep in mind though is that many stores that used to be here are not here anymore so don't be surprise if one day you don't see your favorite store or restaurant missing. They are expanding still so that means more stores are yet to come and that is a reason to be happy...
Read moreGood places to eat, good shopping, clean and very nice to look at. The people who work at the various stores and restaurants are very nice and helpful. I work at one of the stores there so you get to know them. The only one who makes it obvious they feel they are above you is at Sprouts the grocery store. I asked an employee there where the soda was located. You would have thought I just spit on the floor. He gave me a look of disgust at me like I didnt belong there. This was for beautiful people and I should know my place. He said they stocked natural products no soda. He lead me to some carbonated Hansens. That's not soda. That's like carbonated tofu with no caffeine. Bummer. I thanked him and left. He said I should stick to 7/11 or AM/PM. I laughed. I probably make more money in a week than this guy makes in 3 months. But what the heck. At least I dont have a Man Bun...
