Bob Babb Field at Stromberg Stadium is an attractive 290 seat ballpark which serves as the home of the John's Hopkins Blue Jays baseball team. Named for the long-serving baseball coach, Bob Babb, who has coached athletics at JHU since his graduation from the same in 1977, 42 years ago at this writing. Bob's team plays next door to the historic Homewood Field where the legendary John's Hopkins lacrosse team has rolled over opponents for over 100 years. I have attended a baseball game at JHU where there were 100 people in attendance, which included both teams and the support personnel while the lacrosse team was playing next door in front of 10,000 fans and a national television audience on ESPN. I attended a game recently at Bob Babb Field between two Baltimore City High School teams who have been squaring off against each other since the 19th century. The event drew a standing-room-only crowd which included some prominent alumni cheering on their own alma maters. No doubt, Bob extended the use of the field to both public schools who had a chance to play on a pristine field on a beautiful spring day. Parking at Johns Hopkins University is an adventure. If you can walk, take public transportation, or ride a bike to the game, you might find this to be easier than trying to find a parking spot. According to the school's website, "Visitors to Johns Hopkins University should park in the South Garage, San Martin Garage, the North Visitor Lot, or metered Faculty areas." The North Visitors Lot is a 5 minute walk from Bob Babb Field. ... Visitor Rates: Up to 1 hour: $4. Up to 2 hours: $7. Up to 3 hours: $10. Up to 4 hours: $13. 4 hours: $16. Evening after 3:45pm:...
