So this is a tough review for me. There was so much good and so much bad. Part of me wanted to give this place a 1, part of me thinks it deserved a 4, I'm settling on a 2. The food was pretty good. This could easily be a place people want to go regularly, if they can fix the problems. The atmosphere/decor was nice. There was a fireplace and lots of comfortable booths etc. it is definitely a place that makes you want to come back. As many of the reviews stated the service was atrocious. It was one of the worst services experiences I've ever had. The restaurant wasn't too crowded. The bar area was, though. When we walked in it took at least 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge our party. They did seat us by the fire place, as we requested. We were the 5th table when we were seated. There appeared to be two waitstaff. Unfortunately it took nearly 10 minutes, for the waitress to acknowledge us. She filled our water and let us know she would be back in five minutes or less. Nearly 15 minutes later she came back to take our order. Unfortunately no one give us any drink menus. Our waitress gave us a wine list, but not beer list. We ordered, and asked for beer list, which she promptly brought over. After waiting at least 20 minutes. We were out of water, out of bread with no beer or wine. Another table seated right after us still hadn't ordered. Either the manager or chef (based on his dress) was attempting to do damage control with the tables. Our waitress forgot what wine we ordered and never took our beer order. The chef got both of these things for us. When the food actually came out it was pretty darn good. There was definitely effort put into the plates. If the service was even remotely acceptable I'd definitely go back and/or recommend it to friends. As is, I can't recommend you go here unless you're snowed in at the double tree or there isn't anything open in the area. I hate to down rate something like service, but based on reviews this is a recurrent problem. Plus the service...
Read moreOverall I was unimpressed, very disappointed. We decided to try it because it was restaurant week. A friend of mine ordered the crab deviled eggs and the crab wasn’t placed on her app and it was bought out in a condiment cup instead. Eggs were under seasoned and had way too much Dijon mustard. I ordered fries as an additional starter with the contingency upon malt vinegar being available it was bought out and inedible because it is expired (pictured below). My sister ordered the quinoa salad which was pretty but taste wise disappointing. Wasn’t enough dressing and the quinoa wasn’t seasoned…. Not enough cheese on the salad if the grain was going to be bland. The food was not hot for the amount of time we waited. Also the plates weren’t heated which cooled my meal done a great deal. The Demi tasted like it was from a pack and the ribs had a good taste but were way overcooked potatoes had no garlic in them. The highlight was the drinks we ordered and the mousse cake. The server was pleasant but I...
Read moreInterestingly, we found Alizee’s dining room empty at 6pm on a Friday. As a result, acoustics were horrible. The restaurant’s floors and walls consist of tile, so the noise coming from the bar and lobby create an echo chamber. The restaurant installed lots of tacky green hedges in an attempt to counteract the effect; however, it doesn’t work.
Our server also doubled as the bartender. Given that he also had to mind the bar, he did a good job. The food took an unusually long time to come to the table after ordering. On the plus side, everyone at the table enjoyed the quality of their food.
The cheesesteak sub was made from filet mignon (if you don’t want it cooked medium rare, you’ll need to specify). The crab cakes here had very little filler, were flavorful, and made with jumbo lump crabmeat.
We speculated that the hotel room service orders keep this restaurant in business. This establishment is definitely not a destination restaurant. However, if you’re staying in the hotel, do come here for...
