Before you read this, just beware that my rating is related to a specific situation. Actually , I rated this place a 4. That being said, I been coming to this restaurant for a couple of years now. I think today was by far my worst experience at this place. Customer service was horrible. Manager/server was nice but theres a lot to improvement that needs to be done on her end. Whenever, customers are not satisfied with their food, it's servers/Managers responsibility to accommodate these individuals with something else. Take ownership and go beyond what's expected. I'm asking for a good meal. I put my trust in this restaurant by even spending money here. These actions should be valued by a food company. In this case, I wasn't accommodated with anything. In the server/manager line of defense, it was stated that " since I didn't like it, I couldn't swap it for something else". It was recommended that I pay for another dish to satisfy my hunger. There was no way I would pay for a second dish. One bad dish is enough. If you ask me, this particular server/manager needs to enroll in a customer service improvement class before dealing with the public. This is just my opinion. I literally gave my money away for free, Not cool! The Tofu Scrambler was horrible. Very disgusting. Simple as that. (Sorry Chef). I wouldn't recommend that dish to no one. Our server was named "karma" and ever since my friend asked what they had for tea we were given an attitude. It also took her 30 minutes to take our order. When my friend ordered her vegan cheesesteak the lady was very condescending and was like, "you mean the PHILLY vegan cheesesteak?" Like they had more than one item menu of a cheesesteak. I'm not vegan or vegetarian but I only come here because my friend is. And I recently have wanted to try all the different vegan cheesesteaks because they are my favorite food. I told her I wanted the vegan cheesesteak but with provolone and mayo and she gave me the biggest attitude ever. Arguing with me saying that's not a vegan cheesesteak what in the world makes that vegan? And she just kept on arguing and wouldn't take the order. Never have I ever been spoken to that was from a server. I used to work in the industry in college for a while, but this attitude was extremely unacceptable, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. When we left, I did give her advice to work on her attitude because I really hope she isn't that rude to other customers and then left. I then left my wallet on the table and she brought it out and then started screaming at me and my friend and said " WHO ORDERS PROVOLONE AND MAYO ON A VEGAN CHEESESTEAK that doesn't make it vegan blah blah she had my wallet in her hand and I was honestly scared she was going to hit me. The menu that they gave us described tofu scrambler to be served with toast and fries, which made us choose it over other options. When we didn't receive any fries with it, we mentioned to the server who casually replied that the menu is old and they don't serve fries with it anymore. She told us that we would be charged if we want fries. Appalled by this unethical take towards the situation, we requested to talk to the manager.
The manager talked to us very rudely, again reiterating the excuse given by the server. It would have been tolerable if it was only this. Next, she said in a very condescending tone that if we were really "desperate" for fries, she can get us some. We were in shock and thought we misheard. But she repeated herself and made it clear that she has no respect for us as customers. We could just nod at the time. When she left, I got the time to process what had just happened. They then served us with what can be only described as a sorry excuse of an order of fries. Few pieces of burnt fried potatoes in a small plate (picture attached). My partner and I paid immediately and left without touching the food. We refuse to eat at a restaurant that undermines our dignity.
