My family and I were looking for something to do while sightseeing in Banner Elk, NC. and we heard from the locals about Tate-Evans Parks free concerts, so we decided to go.Let me tell y'all...we had a blast. There had to be atleast 2-300 people at the park and everyone looked like they were really having a good time. The local band that played, and please forgive me for forgetting their name, but they were fabulous, they never missed a beat, and the woman that sang, could really, belt out a tune, she was great. In front of this great band jamming, there is a dance area and alot of people were getting up there and dancing, myself and my fiance as well. We had such a great time, that I personally want to rate this park 5 stars. The local vendors there had good food and drinks. The whole atmosphere was just great I recommend highly to come here if you want to get out, breathe fresh mountain air, and relax and just enjoy the moment. I promise you won't be disappointed. Read moreThis is a beautiful park in downtown Banner Elk. There's a walking trail, a stream, two nice playground areas, wading pools, a volleyball court, picnic tables, and a covered picnic shelter. They have restrooms, but they aren't always open, I think just in the summer. There's a little amphitheatre that has concerts on Thursday nights during the summer. The Town of BE has a 4th of July celebration, an annual gathering around the campfire farewell to summer, a Halloween Spook-tacular, and a Christmas tree lighting with caroling here. You can also have birthday parties, etc. here. Very cool...

It has public restrooms easily accessible on the backside of an open stage for performances where the lawn in front is landscaped in long mounds for audiences to sit. A very nicely placed bench swing is at the creek and there are sheltered picnic areas. Across a wooden bridge over the creek are two awesome playgrounds. I can't forget to mention the paved walking trail inviting visitors to see all areas of this park and neighborhood. Looks like locals make good use of the area...
