This is a cute zoo. It really isn't as big as I was expecting. More like a "petting zoo" type feel to it. But it was nice as our kiddo likes to interact so had a blast!!! The otters were friendly and moving all over, the bears and fox were climbing trees and fun to watch as well.
The feed dispensers were very inconsistent. The one closest to the goats I used 3 quarters and only got a total of 9 pellets (6, 3, 0). I used the dispenser near the donkey and got maybe a dozen with 1 quarter (only had the 1 left).
Only disappointing piece (and most zoos seem to have this issue). It is always sad when I see prey and predator animals housed so close to each other with minimal barrier between them. the bear/fox are right next to the chickens/donkey/llama. 🤷🏼♀️ The scent/visual/etc of predators is a stressor for...
Read moreWe rented out the pavilion for my son's birthday party and we were very disappointed. That was not true whatsoever. They were a good treck away and we had a lot of young kids and elderly people there who could not easily take the hike to get there. It was snowing and they didn't salt anything so it was extremely icy and not safe at all. We were told the pavilion could accommodate 100 people. I'm not sure where they're getting that number because we struggled to fit 20. Overall we felt like we got scammed. Oh and we paid $100 for this....

The Ochsner Zoo Park had a nice variety of birds and animal exhibits laid out in an interesting way. They had nice flower gardens and landscaping throughout the zoo. One added neat touch was a variety of small objects such as gnomes,, animals and sea shells scattered in some of the gardens. My grandchildren loved searching for the.
The zoo itself is located in a larger park. Right next to the zoo was a really great playground! It had lots of stuff to do as well as picnic tables and shelters. My grandkids love the...
