Absolutely loved this place! 🤗 Me and a friend came out to Baraboo (Wisconsin Dells) for a hiking trip to Devil's Lake. We stopped into this place after reading some of the reviews, and it did not disappoint.🤗 At first I personally was wondering if this was a restaurant since the main entrance is a small storefront (something that is super common in Chicago). We proceeded to walk into the store and as soon as you walk in, you can see the restaurant entrance straight ahead. Once we were in the actual restaurant the menu was pretty large. We ordered the pablano pepper fajitas and about 5 tamales, both were really good, let me rephrase, the tamales were fantastic! 😋🤤. Staff was super nice and attentive. They have bottled drinks and no fountain drinks, which honestly, no big deal (something that I have noticed is quite normal for most home-style Mexican restaurants). The color scheme and decorations gave you a feeling that you are not in an average 'Wisconsin' restaurant. I will definitely go back when we are out this way to visit the dells. Also, if you looking for a pinatas, they have those as well, in the store front part. Great people, great food! Loved it....
Read moreThe tacos were a good value for the price (2 tacos and a drink for $6 excluding tax. The tacos by themselves were $1.89)... Only a little smaller than Taco Bell tacos, but they had more meat for about the same price. They were also soft shelled, laid out like dinner plates, were made quickly, and came with two shells instead of one (maybe so you can sandwich the filling in the middle?). They don't come with sauce on them, but the green sauce they brought out was good (they also brought out red sauce, but I didn't try it). The tacos are also not really like other tacos I've had, so I only plan to go back if I'm in the mood for their tacos or to try their other food (thus I gave them only 4 stars instead of 5).
I went at around 4 pm and the only other customers were a family where the dad and two kids looked Mexican, the mom was white, and they had a KFC bag... So maybe that means the food...
Read moreLove, Love, Love their tacos and many other dishes are wonderful, as well. Always plenty of cilantro and lime if you want 😋I really like the vibe of the restaurant and appreciate the lack of waste/efficiency with how they are set up and run everything (e.g. a station to serve yourself water, a place to put dirty dishes) I think it helps keep prices down and the quality of food up. Also. It’s great that I can pick up a few things from the grocery after.
My favorite thing of all, though, is getting a big order of takeout when we’re hosting an event or something, because they really know what they’re doing! The big aluminum tray full of tacos always has so many delicious extras like onions and salsas, and we can get another tray with empanadas, chimichangas, etc. Great way to go for a party or whatever. Wish I had photos - maybe I’ll grab and add...
