Another day, another fantastic meal at my favorite restaurant. My fiance, bless his heart, rarely knows what to get me for presents, but on our 5th anniversary he knew exactly where to take me, a restaurant I've been ranting and raving about for over a decade: Little Village Cafe.

Little is in the name, but it is the ONLY place in town where you'll consistently get big flavor. The atmosphere is quaint, the lighting is romantic, and the people are wonderful. Our waitress was a lovely woman with an exuberant personality with a smile to match. I would have never guessed she was working; her positivity was so infectious.

We started off with the roasted red pepper soup, shared with two spoons at the suggestion of our waitress 💜✨️ I'm a creature of habit and rarely like trying new foods at restaurants, but this is a place where I'm excited to try new flavors, and the soup went beyond my expectations. Delicious, decadent, smooth, and umami are just a few of the words to describe the soup.

And like the creatures of habit we are, we both got the tortellini with blackened chicken again and it was RAVISHING. Or we were ravishing the tortellini, rather. I don't know if it was the atmosphere, the company, or the date, but this time the chicken was particularly succulent and flavorful.
