Racially Profiled Discrimination Public humiliation Emotional distress Today I was detained and arrested along with my friend Keshia Knowles We walked into Hobby Lobby in Bartlett to the aisle for what we were looking for Immediately the assistant manager Chris started started watching us through the aisle Then Vannesa got on the intercom and asked the manager Benjiman Moore to come to the front We gathered our things and walked to the front While waiting to check out manager (Benjiman) begin watching us through the aisles We checked out and tried to leave but BARTLETT POLICE DEPARTMENT officers stopped us saying we smelled like weed! No one with us had been smoking! Officer McKee immediately put cuffs on me and told me I was being detained for smelling like weed and officer Clark told me it was bc of possible theft! Officer Clark also stated I was being detained for talking and now the charge is disorderly conduct! No one was disorderly as you can see from the small video. They took my phone away immediately! Not yelling, screaming, being aggressive, or insubordinate! They searched us, we had no warrants, my friends had a receipt for all their items, I didn’t buy anything, our weapons were legit, nor did they find drugs on us. People walking in and out took our pictures and recorded us! There was no apology giving for the “possible theft” let alone the embarrassment! Bartlett police advised if coming back we would be charged with trespassing even though we did nothing wrong! They took us to jail made us dress out gave us a room and then let us go on ROR! I want justice! There’s no reason why we worked all week and couldn’t simply enjoy a Saturday out shopping! Hobby Lobby at 7986 highway 64 will never see me again but I cannot and will not...
Read moreMy daughter and I (whom is 7 years) were going to do a Mother's Day gift for my mom (her gandma). We got the paper we needed and the supplies. Once we got to the counter I paid for mine 1st (which is what I always do when we pay separate so that she can see what to do when completing a transaction). I used my coupon and finished my transaction. Once it was my daughter's turn she followed the same steps as me, but when she attempted to use the coupon the cashier told her that she could not use the same coupon as me because it is 1 coupon per person. I explained to the cashier that she is a customer, she has her own money and her own product. The cashier told me that because the coupon was on my phone we could not use it twice which is crazy because sometimes when customers are in front of me and need a coupon because their phone isn't working I let them use mine....so it was really BS.... I went to the car and got my daughters tablet and pulled the coupon up on there. I just feel like that was uncalled for and it was not necessary for me or my daughter to have to go through that. I love Hobby Lobby but I may have to start shopping at Micheals....at least their cashiers...
Read moreI am a seamstress. I need thread. Hobby Lobby in Bartlett has been out of thread for almost 3 months with no excuse. I called about it at the main Hobby Lobby and they were not helpful. There are two other Hobby Lobby's in this city of Memphis and they all had thread but we do not have it at Bartlett. There is also a long line where we by our fabric. Need more help and need more of a variety of fabric. It is the same old same. Also this store is getting rid of supplies for making cards. I was told that people were not buying the tools to make cards. What is going on with Hobby Lobby as they are filling my Hobby Lobby full of junk, in fact so much junk they're putting it up on the walls but we cannot get enough cardstock to make cards. Lately this store in Bartlett did not have the Christian birthday cards as the counters were empty. I have shopped at this Hobby Lobby for 20 or more years and I love them I love the music that they play as we shop and the people there are super. I'm not mad I just want to continue with what we had to work with and keep out all the junk that seems to be filling the store. Sincerely...
